“Aamzing service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

This is a very small boutique hotel. As we arrived we treated with a nice juice, the gentlemen at check was so friendly and so helpful. Every time we needed anything the front desk would help with no hesitation. What makes this hotel so unique is that all the staff are so friendly, so obliging and speak good English. The staff are so nice, and friendly. We traveled throughout Turkey and at Sultania i noticed that they were the most friendly staff. The hotel is really clean, and always had some snack in the lobby area which made the hotel look so warm and welcoming. The rooms are really nice and clean. They are small but i don't think you will easily find a lot of hotels in Istanbul with big rooms. If you going with a child it would be tough if you stay in this hotel because the room had no bath tub, was a little small and the lifts are small. The bathrooms could have been a little bigger but i would overlook it because the place was comfortable and always clean. Every night we would get the most divine Turkish delight. The decor in the hotel and room is so gorgeous you really do feel like a sultan in the room. I loved the decor in the room. The lighting made it extra special. Location is excellent, the train is so near, tourist sites are near, tons of eating out places, tons of shops for tourist near by! I personally would recommend anyone to book this hotel because its convenient and near to tourist sites, and you really get a feeling of the Turkish culture with all the decor and the staff really do treat you like a sultan, they really look after you as a guest.

The first impression is just the best. Low lights, low profile… No big lobby or front desk.

For some reason, they couldn't find my reservation and neither the transfer I've booked on their website from the airport to the hotel. Waited for 45 minutes at the airport and nobody showed up. Big mistake, but the gentleman on the front desk was nice enough to check me in early in the morning (instead of 1pm) to compensate that.

The room was impeccable in details. Unbelievable lighting gives an extra vibe to the place. The bell boy took my bags and explained me how everything works in there. They left a turkish delight on the bed as a "welcome gift".

The mini bar had some good stuff. Complimentary coffee.

The concierge guy was just perfect. I stayed in Istanbul for around 20 hours, and he basically made a schedule with all the places he recommended me to visit. Stayed around 20 minutes talking to him. Great guy.

The location is perfect. In the heart of old town. You can walk everywhere! And If you can't, the train station is 3 minutes away. Lots and lots of restaurants around the hotel.

One comment about the room. You can hear some noise from outside restaurants and streets. Not a super big deal compared to the greatness of the hotel, but it might be a problem for those with a light sleep, like me.

The breakfast was good. Not lots of options, but very good quality and service. They leave the street doors open. Very romantic I would say.

The daily rate was very fair. Around 140 euros. Paid 20 euros for a transfer to the airport at 5am.

I will definitely come back to this place!

Room Tip: Away from the elevator.

My family and I stayed for eight nights at the end of May. A very smart hotel that couldn't have been in a more convenient spot. Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque are all within short walk. The tram stop is aslo just a minutes walk away. This was very useful as I had my young children an elderly parents with me. The hotel itself was decorated to a high standard and this included the rooms and dining areas. The service at the hotel was excellent. From the time we checked in to the time we left we were always made very welcome. Thank you to all the staff especially Hilmi who made our visit a memorable one. When we return to Istanbul we know where to stay.

We booked the Boutique Hotel Sultania through City of Sultan . We arrived to a warm greeting around 8:30 pm. The staff quickly escorted us to our theme inspired room and we immediately fell in love with the decor. The room was large and very clean. We had a late dinner at the rooftop restaurant and it was superb. The morning breakfast was excellent but we could bring ourselves to eat the selection of Turkish olives so early in the day and the wait staff very attentive. The Hotel is located on a narrow street filled with many restaurants and a short walk to the Sofia! When we left, staff escorted us to our car and presented us with a farewell gift. Service and attention at this small hotel is outstanding and on future trips to
Istanbul we would stay here again.

We have just spent a very enjoyable 5 days in Istanbul and stayed at this hotel.

My best advice is take Turkish Lira it works out cheaper than using Euros/£s/$s.

We flew into Sahiba Gokcen airport and I had already arranged transfers via www.sabihagokcenairportshuttle.com. No problems with this and great value for money as it was 10TL per person each way which is about £3.60.

The transfer to Istanbul took about an hour and a half just because of the traffic in the city centre, however it did allow us the opportunity to see quite a lot of the city.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and all of the staff were friendly and could not so enough to help us. Our room on the second floor was spotless and very comfortable. Free WIfi was a bonus and this is available in your room as well as the reception area. Breakfast was very good, plenty of selection and a chef on hand to cook fresh omelettes if you wanted one.

Use the tram - its really easy and stops just around the corner at Gulhane. You need to buy a token (3 TL) and that allows you to travel as far as you want. Just a warning they get very busy at rush hour and if you have been on the tube you know what I mean! If you don't fancy playing sardines then the hotel is ideally situated and is 5 to 10 minutes away from all the major attractions.

We took a trip to Princes Island (Adalar) and that cost 5TL for the ferry with the journey taking 1 hour 40 minutes. We did try and find the fast ferry but it either wasn't running or we couldn't find it. Once there we took a horse and carriage ride around the island. This cost 60 TL for about 40 minutes. Saw quite a bit but don't expect too much and if you are a horse lover be prepared to see some very hard worked animals.

You must go to the Grand Bazaar - it is absolutely amazing. Yes you get pestered but I quite enjoyed the banter with the shop owners.

Visit the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Galata Tower and Topkapi Palace.

We ate out every night and although most of the restaurants serve very similar food, it was all well cooked and we we never disappointed. There are plenty of restaurants very close to the hotel. Efes is the local beer and very nice it is too! Typically we paid about 8 or 9 TL for a 0.5l glass.

Istanbul is all hustle and bustle and a real mix of cultures with friendly people all trying to make sure you have a good time and, yes, visit their shop!

Go to Istanbul and stay at this hotel - you wont be disappointed.

Don't really know what more you would want ftom a hotel. They definitely get what trip advisor can do for them.
Great location. Nice rooms. And very friendly service. They even wanted to call our restaurant that we ate the night before when service wasn't that good there.

We were blown away by the sights in Istanbul and Hotel Sultania is in a perfect location to visit them from.
The room was on the top floor with a balcony and very comfortable.
The service from the concierge was friendly and very efficient in arranging tours and transfers, recommending places to eat, etc.
We would definitely book here again.
