The hotel is beautiful, the front desk services is excelent and the rooms are profesionaly decorated. The restaurants with a walking distance are amazing, the free breakfast buffet on the terrace has a diferent main course every morning, the wait staff is frindly and warm. The location is one of the best locations in town, within a walking distance from the blue mosque and the Sofia, the metro system is a block away, if you feel like walking by the water is just a couple blocks away. The location is safe and the price is just right.

Perfect locatoin in quiet street with plenty charming restaurants - walk to all the sights. Rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. Friendly staff, great breakfast and charming spa area.Very reasonable rates and complimentary airport transfer in very luxurious and spacious minivan. Calculate the cost of transfer and realize this is a BARGAIN! You cannot go wrong with this one - but book early, word is out....!

Room Tip: If you are a party share a tripple room!

Just got back from short break in Istanbul. I do want to go back and I will definitely stay at the Hotel Sultania again. From our arrival - cup of coffee/tea whilst checking in and large plate of dried fruits to nibble, turkish delights in our room - our welcome was genuinely warm and friendly - throughout our stay the staff were extremely attentive, nothing to much trouble. Breakfast is good with a wide range of hot and cold food. The room facilities are modern and and clean. I could go on but the overall experience was resoundingly excellent. The hotel location is right in the centre of the old town, close to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazzar, Spice market etc. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

This was our first visit to Istanbul and we could not find a better place to stay than Sultania. When we are abroad we like to have space around us, so we settled for a Sultania de luxe room which showed out to be huge and actually as big as a suite. Well, the price was not low but we were staying in Istanbul a whole week so our hotel room was momentarily our home. After a long sight seeing day it is wonderful to relaxe in a spacious room. The position of Hotel Sultania is as good as the room: you are not only extremely close to all the famous attractions of Istanbul (Topkapi, Aya Sofia, The blue Mosque, The gran Bazar etc.), you are also very close to the bridge over The golden Horn and thereby the access to the many boats going up the Bosporus. And furthermore close to the real life of the Istanbulies who are swarming around the area in the afternoon and that's what we really like: to mingle with the locals and get a glimpse of the life behind the glamorous facade of a city or a country (within limits of course). The hotel staff were attentive, skilled and extremely serviceminded. The nice lady in charge of guest relations was specially helpful, she was there with the purpose of giving the guests good advices about Istanbul, which is a rare function in a hotel. The breakfast was abundant and also the restaurant Olive on the roof top was good. All together and following many of the other reviews: a great hotel in a wonderful city.

My wife and I stayed at the Sultana in the fall of 2011. To cut to the chase, we loved it. The room was well sized, clean, interesting and had an ethnic flair, which we enjoyed. The staff was great (don't miss the Turkish bath offered by the hotel), and without exception they were very helpful. The complimentary breakfast provided enough food to keep one going all day, the quality was great and the selection varied.

Moreover, the location is perfect, as it is within walking distance to many of the must-see sights in Istanbul. Noto Bene: the neighborhood is a little confusing, so be sure to drop bread crumbs when you leave the hotel. However on the plus side, I felt it was a very safe area.

I would stay there again without a second thought.

Room Tip: All the rooms are named after Sultanas, and (at least our room) had a picture of her, and a her hist...

The hotel was difficult to find for the taxi as it is new and on a pedestrian only walkway. Beautiful boutique hotel on a great pedestrian walkway full of restaurants and shops. helpful and knowledgeable staff and a restaurant overlooking the city. Funky decor in the room ours having mirrors on the ceiling a free form sink and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. However we felt it was overpriced and managed a little clinical and efficient rather than warmth.

Room Tip: We upgraded our room and got more of the personality of the room.
