“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2011

This is a stylish hotel with all modern amenities in a great location (lots of restaurants and walking distance to the main sights). The old town is definitely the best place to stay, lots of life and things to visit on foot, but not as crazy as around Taksim at night. We all loved the decor and the staff made us feel super special. We got an amazing deal (4 nights for the price of 3) which made this great value for such a cool boutique hotel and top-notch accommodation. The bathroom design doesn't give much privacy, but luckily that didn't bother us once we got used to it. Stylish and special, we will definitely be back!

We recently stayed for four nights at this hotel, and can heartily recommend it. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, all without exception friendly and welcoming. Most spoke at least some English. The gentlemen at the reception desk went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The hotel is on a nice pedestrian-only street filled with restaurants and hotels, so it's reasonably quiet. And it's within walking distance to many of the tourist sites (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Roman Cisterns). The hotel itself is spotless and nicely decorated with an Ottoman theme. The breakfast buffet is ample. The only negative I would mention is that the beds aren't all that comfortable. But that would not keep us from returning to this lovely hotel.

Just came back from a 5 night stay in this hotel. When we arrived ,4 women sharing 2 rooms , one room had a double bed instead of twins but they put an single bed in for us immediately and the room was still quite spacious . They also gave us a free bottle of Champagne and a free transfer back to the airport because of the inconvenience.
Breakfast was good but would have liked to have a bigger selection of prepared fruit eg papaya and bananas and also croissants which I love but there was a good selection of other breads and pastries . The service was great and all the staff very friendly. Rooms were good but bathroom setup not really suitable of women sharing as sink was in the bedroom and there was no privacy in the bathroom due to design. had a Turkish bath and massage and it was well worth the money. All in all I would go back to this hotel and recommend it to my friends.

Love being in the old town, the staff was very nice, the room brand new and great value for money. The breakfast selection lovely with freshly squeezed OJ & real honeycomb. The rooftop restaurant at the sister hotel next door has fab view of one of the mosques.

What stands out most about the Sultania is the service. The staff is excellent and eager to please. The concierge, Sibel, gave us excellent suggestions on restaurants and other attractions in the old sections and other areas as well.

A special treat, not to be missed is the Hamman. I loved it.

As the other reviews mention - this hotel is easy walking distance to all the main tourist attractions while still being tucked away on a quiet and attractive pedestrian side street. Staff are very friendly and helpful and seem genuinely excited to provide tips on their city. Breakfast buffet is included and gives a tasty and authentic sampling of Turkish foods, coffee, fruits, cheeses, halva etc. The hotel is clean and the amenities are modern yet it thankfully still feels like Europe and is full of personality - this is definitely not a big international hotel chain if that is what you are after. Turkish robes and fun "Sultan" detailing and murals in the rooms make for a comfortable and delightful intro to Turkey. However, make sure to bring a map with you on arrival to Istanbul, as the street is small most taxi drivers (yes, even the honest ones) can't find it!

Room Tip: Higher floors have a small balcony (I believe 4th floor and above)
