“All Very Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Seraglio had pretty much everything you could want. Friendly and helpful staff, transport from the airport, comfortable big rooms, welcome drinks, air conditioning, free coffee/tea and cake in afternoon, breakfast and good wifi included. There was nothing I can think of that was missing or wrong!

It is also in a brilliant location, within walking distance of 90% of everything we wanted to visit (would have been very annoying to travel from somewhere else in the city every day). The hotels restaurant was also very good and cheaper than most places in the area.

Truth in advertising, for sure. Beautifully remodeled from a family home into a 4-star boutique hotel. Excellent meals on site, very pleasant guest rooms, support and cleaning staff were genuinely caring and helpful. Most of all, I'd like to give the concierges Kenan and Celal my sincere thanks for making me comfortable and well cared for, arranging for travel when needed, and introducing me to their friends. I stayed for 9 days, and next time will stay longer!

The hotel is right in the centre of the tourist area, easy access by foot or tram to all the sights. The rooms are wonderfully clean with everything you could want and the bathrooms are a delight. The staff are excellent, the breakfast buffet and delicious. The hotel also offers free tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon from 5pm - 7pm. They arranged a taxi pick up from the airport and arranged a minibus pick up to go back (much cheaper but times are limited) This hotel has excellent reviews because it really is that good !!

I can't say enough good things about the hotel - we were treated to a five star service for a very affordable price. The hotel staff picked us up from the airport in the middle of the night and the great service continued throughout our whole stay. The staff is incredibly nice; the room was so very comfortable and clean; the complimentary breakfast was delicious; the complimentary tea time was very pleasant; the free wifi was fast.

The location is ideal and picturesque. There are cobble streets lined with hotels, restaurants and shops, and it is a very safe and touristy area. The best part was that the hotel was in such a great location that the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and the tram station were only a 5 minute walk!!!!! We did not need a taxi even once!

Oh, and the staff is so amazing that when we told them we needed to leave the hotel at 2am, they actually prepared some sandwiches for us to take to the airport. What other hotel does that for you?!

I absolutely ADORE this place, and would never stay anywhere else but HOTEL SERAGLIO!!!

This hotel was an excellent choice ....an easy walk to all the main sights, located in a pretty, quiet cobbled street, with warm and friendly service. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast ample and varied.
Most of our small group stayed here, and those who opted for a much more expensive chain hotel in a busier part of the city wished they had too. We would definitely return here.

My daughter and I went to Istanbul to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was really hard to decide on a hotel without knowing the area, but I couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. Not only is it in the perfect location, very close to the Arasta Bazaar, Sultanahmet Mosque and the Aya Sofya, but the people couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. We very much appreciated feeling comfortable and completely at ease at the hotel.

Hotel beds are usually not as comfortable as what I have at home, not the case here. Not only was the mattress wonderful, but there was also a nice assortment of pillows, and a fluffy European style duvet. The spare blanket was also very nice, not flimsy like you usually find in most hotels. The bathroom was up to American standards with good water pressure, and a nice shower.

The hotel itself was very well maintained, both inside and out, and immaculate at all times. If you are not used to walking up and down a lot of stairs, you might want to make sure that your room is on the side with the elevator.

There was, at times, noise from the hallway/stairs, but this is understandable due to the type of flooring. If noise is something that will trouble you make sure to bring some earplugs. The call to prayer is pretty loud; we were on the ferry half-way to Kadıköy and could still hear it clearly. We thought that this was one of the best things about being in Istanbul, and were not unhappy that we could hear it in our hotel room.

I liked the fact that the Wi-Fi was specific to each area of the hotel. We only had one issue with the Wi-Fi not working and this was taken care of in a timely manner. Otherwise we had no issues with using it with our phones (iPhone & Blackberry), iPad or computer.

The food at the hotel was all beautifully presented and very tasty. My daughter and I still are arguing which soup was better – the chicken or the vegetable. For my birthday they had a very beautiful cake with candles during tea, it was very nice.

Room Tip: Try one of the Hamam rooms.

This is a real gem. The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for you. The hotel is absolutely lovely , we stayed in room 205 overlooking the courtyard, it was great with a walk in shower the bathroom was almost the size of the bedroom. The hotel offers tea, coffee, hair dyer and free WiFI if you have the cash go for the Blue Mosque Suite, the views from there are to die for, you have a fantastic view of the Blue Mosque from your rooftop terrace which at night is awesome!!!
The hotel also offer a fantastic airport shuttle service.
I would highly recommend this hotel for any visit to Istanbul
