“Such excellent service, fantastic location, great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2010

1. Was the hotel close to things (e.g. transport, attractions, restaurants)?
5min walk to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque, restaurants and trams. Numerous other sights and tourist things very close, couldn't get a better location!!

2. Was the hotel in a safe area?
Very safe.

3. Was there much noise at night?
No noise.

4. What was the quality and cleanliness of the hotel furniture and fittings like (e.g. bed, lock-up safe, shower)?
Very comfortable furnishings, clean, modern, and elegant design.

5. Do the hotel staff provide a good service (e.g. competence, attitude, availability)?
Extremely helpful and friendly, with a great sense of humour!! They really care about offering a superior service to guests. Always available.

6. What were the hotel amenities like (e.g. breakfast, restaurant, pool, bar, car parking)?
Nice breakfast buffet, but no bar, restaurant, parking or pool. Only suggestion is to include more bread options for westerners who like thier toast!

7. Did the room come with extras (e.g. minibar, TV, internet, air-con, tea making facility)?
Internet available on laptop for free at reception. Tea making facilities in room, minibar, and air con. Windows can open as well.

8. Other / general comments:
We loved staying at this hotel and if we ever return to Istanbul, will definitely return!!!

My friends and I spent an unforgetable weekend in Istanbul with the great help of the extremely service oriented staff (Elif and Cafer) at the White House Hotel. We had great rooms - endured a good breakfast each morning and had walking distance to all places that we wanted to chek out. Restaurants and the usal sightseeing places and not to forget shopping. The hotel helped us book a faboulous guide that made sure we were well taken care off on the sightseeing trip us through the streets of old town. If you want to see Istanbul I highly recommend staying at the White House Hotel. I'm sure I will be back soon to see more and shop more :)

This hotel is in a fabulous location for both the sights and good restaurants. The room was of a high standard and they had clearly focused on what customers want , a comfortable bed and an excellent shower. Since opening they have added a roof terrace which gives great views over the city but their most valuable asset are their staff who are truly exceptional.

this hotel is spotlessly clean, very prettily decorated. It is in turkish tradition and therefore not a western hotel. for this reason I recommend it, because it gives one the feeling of being in a new country.i enjoyed the delicious turkish breakfast( cheese, bread, olives, fruit and cereal) .I will stay here again if I visit istanbul.

We stayed at the White House Hotel for seven nights and could not find anything to fault. Without exception the staff, who are always polite and courteous, go out of their way to ensure your stay is the best it can be. Served in a light and airy room breakfast consists of cereals, meats, cheeses, breads and cakes etc. Yagmur and Omar were always in attendance, making the whole experience a delight. The roof top terrace offers views across Istanbul, especially atmospheric at night when the major sights are floodlit.
On reception Elif and Emrah were on hand to offer advice and book tours or taxis - nothing was too much trouble. When my wife needed some medical help Omar was only too happy to escort her to the pharmacy and hospital to translate. For the remainder of our stay he always asked how she was and if she required any further assistance.
At the end of our holiday we were sorry to go and felt we were leaving new friends behind. When we visit this amazing city again, the White House Hotel (and its welcoming staff) will be one of the places we will look forward to visiting most.

I rented two rooms for my wife and adult children. Both were family rooms that had two beds, a single and a double. The hotel is located a few blocks from a street with a tramline and the Haga Sophia and Blue Mosque, Topkapi, the Grand Bazaar, Hippodrome and other historic sites. It is the perfect location for someone who wants to be in walking distance of what was the historic center of Istanbul and Constantinople. If you like to walk, you are about 20 mins walk from the Golden Horn and the port for Bosporus cruises or ferries to the Asia side. The hotel offers free pick up from the airport, but will charge you 45 euros for a small van to return you to the airport. With 4 adults and several large bags, an Istanbul taxi could not have taken us all to the airport. The hotel is relatively recently renovated. The rooms and interior spaces were immaculate. The bedrooms were large by European standards, and typical for an American hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and local travel directions. We had especially good service from Cafer, Elif (also a tour guide at Topkapi on her day off) and Omar. With the tram nearby, it was easy to use the tram and a funicular to travel to Taksim square, Istanbul's equivalent to Times Square in NYC. The area around the hotel is called Sultanamet. According to one of my sons, a travel guide says it is a working class, conservative area. Although there are many tourists and tour buses in the area, the hotel is on a quiet side street with a few businesses that don't generate a lot of traffic. We did not hear any street noise in our rooms. The bathroom is typical for a European hotel. The shower is a plastic capsule with handheld and waterfall show heads. Breakfast has eggs and something like Vienna sausages, along with a choice of cheese, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, tomatoes, cucumbers, bread and cake, very good coffee and tea. There really isn't any nightlife in this area, although we did find a place of a 3 man band playing in an open air lounge with water pipes with flavored tobacco. Some restaurants do not serve alcohol, although most do. The service was just about the best we have ever experienced. One of my sons called to ask where he could buy some beer and the hotel sent someone to buy it for him and bring it to his room, even though they had some in the minibar. They will soon open a rooftop area to serve breakfast. In their literature, they say they are not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but a boutique hotel. I would agree completely with that description. There is free wi fi in the rooms and they will let you use their computer to print our boarding passes and other information. We were very pleased with our stay and would stay there again, when we return to Istanbul.

If you want to be in the middle of all the sights and yet in a peaceful location then this is the hotel for you. The staff were all welcoming, the rooms excellent, as was the service. On our last night we sat on the roof terrace looking at the Blue Mosque, Sophia Agya and the changing lights of the bridge.....perfect.
