“Outstanding Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

I can only repeat what others have written - a true gem of a hotel. Location, facilities, staff were all above expectations at a very reasonable cost. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable. Without asking the porter brought water and orange juice. Breakfast on the roof top overlooking the Blue Mosque was a real treat. Food quality and service very good with refreshments (complimentary) available there all day. Wi-Fi through out. Room amenities outstanding. Also note some excellent restaurants within walking distance.

TIP. If staying more than a few days it is worth learning the local tram routes. Because of the narrow one-way streets in the area, taking a Taxi might cost more in standing time than in distance travelled! It took us almost 90 minutes at mid-day on a Thursday from Airport to Hotel. However if arriving or leaving from the cruise port it is only a 12 minutes.

We look forward to our next visit.

It was our first visit to Istanbul and my husband and I stayed for 6 nights. We booked a triple room and it was large, quiet and clean. Right from the greeting it was obvious that service was top-notch. We travel a lot and we were genuinely impressed with the level of service offered at The White House. The breakfasts were ample and the setting was beautiful. We got picked up and arrived at the hotel around breakfast time. After receiving our juice and turkish delight we were offered free breakfast up the roof. No request was too difficult and they were so generous in what they provided free of charge. Turkish hospitality rocks...would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel. Excellent location too.

Room Tip: We stayed in a triple room and it was really big and quiet - I think it was 501.

This small hotel has perfect location and is within walking distance of all there is to see in old Istanbul. Staff and management are excellent, they go out of their way to accommodate whatever tourists need. The roof terasse has a terrific view and breakfast is served there daily.
Perfect small hotel and superb professionals running it.

Room Tip: our room was right off the lobby, but it was quiet

I stayed at the Whitehouse hotel Istanbul for 4 nights.
Close to many tourist attractions, nice restaurants around.
All staffs were friendly.
Especially the lady at reception desk, fluent in English, welcomed my family with the turkish eye pendant blocking bad luck. And she was ready to offer any information to whatever we asked.
Breakfast on rooftop was great as well.
The view from the top was amazing.
And we were served Turkish coffee after breakfast. Thanks to the young lady on the rooftop!
The white house hotel is literally 'awesome'!
If I visit istanbul again, this would be definitely my home there.

Just returned from a 6-day stay at the White House Hotel in Istanbul. We travel frequently but this was our first trip to Istanbul. Our family of four booked the White House Hotel based on trip advisor reviews. Our expectations were certainly exceeded. From booking to check-in, throughout the duration of our stay until check-out, this small boutique hotel goes above and beyond to provide high quality service to its guests. As mentioned in other reviews, the location is ideal with a less than 5 min walk to major attractions Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern (highly recommend), and 15 min walk to Grand Bazaar. Convenient tram service is also located nearby and the hotel front desk even provided us an extra Istanbulkart (you can use one for your entire group) which was easy to add money to at the station and can use for tram, metro, bus and ferry service -- we returned the card at the end of our stay. Shuttle van service was provided to/from the hotel and airport (as we stayed 6 days, 3 days qualifies for one-way transport). We stayed in a family room and while admittedly small (remember you're in the old city), we found to be very clean and comfortable with an excellent rain shower. Though the gem of this hotel is the roof top terrace with amazing views of Aya Sofya and an excellent Turkish breakfast with local foods such as menemen (Turkey's version of the Western omelette just with more veggies and less eggs), fresh baked breads, cakes+sweets (kids loved), fruit, tahini/pekmezi, juices, coffee and more. Our family found the rooftop to be an excellent respite from the hustle of Istanbul during the day and evening, and the hotel staff provides complimentary turkish coffee, tea, wine and drinks for the kids by request. More importunity, the staff and service at this hotel are best-in class. From check-in providing a welcome overview with fresh juice and Turkish delight as well as answering any questions we had related to sights, restaurants and public transportation. I would like to highlight one staff member (Figen) as she provided exemplary service explaining breakfast choices, sharing Turkish customs and even fortune telling over Turkish coffee! Our family also visited Suleymaniye Mosque and Chora Church (highly recommend both), explored Beyoglu and Spice Bazaar. We also took the ferry from the pier near Galata bridge to Asia Kadikoy which runs every 15-20 min for 3 TL ($1.50) each. This will be the cheapest and most scenic intercontinental cruise you will ever take! We ate Turkish food at Semazen Cafe with locals near the tram stop, cheap and plenty of outdoor seating (there is a sister restaurant a few doors down for tourists) and Buhara around the corner (per tripadvisor, more tourists but excellent and great value). Enjoy Istanbul. Cheers!

Loved this place from the outset; beautiful façade and great location. Friendly welcome with a refreshing drink while candles were being lit in the bedroom. Comp half bottle of wine and rose petals, all very romantic.
Really friendly staff, nice breakfast on the roof, good air conditioning and quiet relaxed night...perfect!
