“could not fault hotel or location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

We stayed 2 nights in November, the staff were attentive the rooms clean and very well furnished, shower was just fabulous (my wife now wants showers like this fitted at home!) comfy bed, adequate storage and floor space.
location couldn't have been better, truly central to all the major sites in Sultanahmet.
Large buffet breakfast with great choice (would have been even better with fresh juice but a very minor point)

“The cleanliness and comfort of the Hotel exceeded our expectations. Even better was the professional staff of Meryem, Necati, and Aydin. I made a point of collecting their names because my husband and I were impressed with their attitude, guidance and aim to please. Great location!
Meryem also asissted me by connecting me with a nearby leather maker (Steel Leather) who made a perfet copy of an old coat of mine that I loved.
”The absolute only thing that I think could use improvement are the towels. In a place where there are really nice soft Turkish towels the towels in the hotel are overused and a bit rough.

Room Tip: We had a room off the lobby which we originally thought would be bad but I would ask for it again. I...

This is truly a gem of a small hotel. Our exposure to it began immediately after booking the hotel, with a welcome email from the management. It ended with gifts of white roses and Turkish Delight when we left to return to Canada. The location of the hotel is perfect, within walking distance of all the attractions of the Sultanahmet district of Istanbul. The staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. The premises were spotlessly clean (no odor when we were there). Breakfast offerings on the roof (with a view) were extensive and delicious. There are several good restaurants very close by. As suggested by other travellers, we asked for (and received) a triple room at the back of the third floor (#302). The view was not great, but the room was spacious and pretty. I found the beds a bit hard, but my travelling mate liked them. We did note some noise from the room above, but it was not loud enough to really disturb us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back, on the second or third floor.

The White House Hotel is in an excellent location in the old city. It is within easy walking distance to the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. It is in the heart of the city with many shops and restaurants nearby. The Sultanahmet tram stop is also nearby.

We paid 149 Euros per night and were in room 303. The room was small and clean with a comfortable bed and excellent foam pillows. The bathroom worked well including the corner shower.

Breakfast was good but not lavish. Some hot food, cereal, pastries, fruit along with cucumbers, tomatoes and olives.

The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We booked a car from the airport to the hotel and the service was very good.

This hotel does not have the luxury of the Four Seasons, but it is a good value and an excellent choice in the old city

The hotel is located in the heart of historic Istanbul: 3 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and 7 minutes to Topkapi.
The rooms are small but with everything you need (including a kettle).
The staff is very polite and helpful.
The only drawback is the breakfast. Unfortunately, if you come to 7.30, you do not get hot meals - staff bring it about 8 am. The choice of dishes is not great, not always fresh pastries, fruit badly washed.
If a rich breakfast is not important for you, I recommend staying at this hotel.

Small hotel in excellent old city location, within 10 minute walk from all major sights - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar. One block from the tram stop. Very clean and well maintained. Excellent helpful and friendly service staff. Many good restaurants in the neighborhood. Breakfast room on the roof with terrace has excellent view of Hagia Sofia and the old town. Our group of 7 adults stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise. Couldn't have made a better choice.

The White House is a lovely little hotel with extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Its location is also perfect - beside Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque, and just down the street from the Sultanahmet tram stop with decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Highly recommended!
