“Great service. Fabulous views and excellent food at reasonable price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

I had lunch with a friend here today as a birthday treat after the hotel where we were staying recommended it. As everyone said you need to book we thought we would have a better chance of getting a table at lunchtime. When we turned up at 2 the staff looked a bit bemused and we were the only guests there. It was only well into the meal we were advised they don't normally do lunch! It was still a lovely experience. Staff were very friendly and attentive and there were lots of nice touches like constantly topping up water( free) free dish of fish in leek and cream sauce and grilled chanterelle mushrooms which were lovely. The starters were all good (recommend the cabbage leaves stuffed with mussels) the grilled sea bass was cooked to perfection and the pistachio dessert was divine. The house Sauvignon blanc was divine. We couldn't make coffee after such a full lunch. The experience wasn't rushed- nearly three hours and the views and the setting were fantastic. All for 65 Turkish lira each. Highly recommended. Would definitely go back.

“Excellent food with wonderful view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013 via mobile

Though a little difficult to find, this restaurant is well worth the effort. A small menu that changes daily depending upon the catch of the day. Don't forget to ask for the semolina ice cream. A very unusual restaurant with an extraordinary view of one of lstanbul"s oldest streets and the Bosphorus.

“Drink raki, eat, laugh, talk, repeat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We went to the Eleos on Istaklal Cadessi with some Turkish friends - about 12 of us all together. The place is tucked on the 2nd floor of an office building and is hard to spot from Istaklal but that is part of the charm. The room is nice with good views though can get loud. The food was quite good though not fabulous though we ate so many appetizers we never made it to the fish. The best part was just the experience of being with friends; drinking raki; eating some more, talking, laughing, drinking more raki, etc for a number of hours. Lots of fun!! The amounts of food were generous and the service quite good. The price was reasonable but that may have been partly due to the fact we were with Turkish friends who were regulars.
