“Clean, central, but overpriced and basic”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2012

I would normally give a hotel like this an "average" rating, because it does have its good points, but I felt that at around 80 euros a night it was severely overpriced.

It's a 15 minute walk to the main sites, but I wouldn't choose this area again - it's teeming with low-quality clothes retailers who continually pester every foreign-looking passerby.

The hotel seemed clean, which is obviously a good thing, but that's not enough to merit a four-star rating. By EU standards this would be a 2-3 star - for example, I stayed at a 2-star Ibis in France that was much nicer.

The Wi-Fi didn't work, which was enormously inconvenient, and meant I had to go out hunting for Wi-Fi elsewhere.

On checking in, I was required to pay for all four nights up-front - this is an unusual requirement, and sends a very bad signal to the guest.

The room was very small and a bit gloomy. The window opened on a quiet, narrow street, but with no view to speak of.

The staff were actually fine, and one of them spoke good English.

There's a five-star review below that seems to me to have been written by a non-neutral party. I can't prove that, but it seems fairly clear. That should be enough to send alarm bells ringing.

This hotel has an excellent location and is very good value considering the rate. Very clean rooms. The english of several of the staff is not that good but they are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is basic but full of stuff that is good for you. I.e. no bacon or greasy sausages but lots of fresh vegetables and such. The hotel was a perfect "home base" for us exploring Istanbul!

Near the tram line which is a must in Istanbul. Walking distance to Grand Bazar. Nice rooms and a good breakfast.

Was not impressed by this so called 4 star hotel. The room a double room but only had a small 26 inch tv in the corner. Breakfast was limited, mostly Turkish food. The staff in the restaurant are eager to clear your plates even if you haven’t finished! This made me very angry. Staff did not seem to know about the local area. The hotel is very clean and places high emphasis on hygiene especially in the bathroom. Not a great city view, just another standard hotel opposite. Only 1 person per each floor can access the wireless at a time. Overall a disappointment.
