“Great! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

Delicious food, good service, very friendly. Very well priced too... For us it was great to find a place that offered more than the bland tourist fare of kebabs, kebabs and more kebabs - they even had vegetables! Highly recommended!

“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

We found this restaurant by chance and I am glad we did.

It's a small restaurant, with a good selection on the menu. We were brought some puffer bread and a dip as a starter which was a nice touch. The main meals were very tasty and well priced. We ended the meal with complimentary apple tea.

The restaurant doesn't serve alcohol but this was no problem for us.

I would definitely eat here again.

“The Best Iskender Kebab”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

My friend and I ate here twice while we were in Istanbul, just to have the Iskender Kebab dinner. Whatever they used in the sauce was delicious. It was better than some other iskender kebabs we tried in other restaurants, both in Istanbul and Antalya. The serving size was enough to feed both of us; we shared one order. The staff was also very friendly, and the atmosphere was nice with outdoor seating in the evenings. Inside, they had a display of decorative hanging lamps, and I actually bought one (after haggling the price a bit).

“Delicious, reasonable, and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014 via mobile

We had the specialty mixed grill in a hot clay pot, and it was delicious. It came with complimentary tea and a starter. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. We got a high chair for our son, which is not the case everywhere. And the whole meal was reasonably priced: $20 per person for the complimentary starter, grill, fresh juice, and tea.

Two notes: they don't serve alcohol, but don't let that keep you away! Also, the location shown on trip advisor's map is wrong. They are actually located about two blocks further down than what is shown (I.e. Further east). Well worth a visit!

“Nice restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

We went to Cafe Rumist after reading the comments on Tripadvisor. All the staff was friendly and understood/spoke English. The food we had was good (but not outstanding) and they charge what the menu says. We went there in January and their outside place was well heated and decorated to make for a very friendly atmosphere. Don't expect to have wine or beer with your dinner though as they don't serve alcohol!
