Five star boutique hotel. Clean, cosy, and lovely. Especially the breakfast! Walking distance to the old town and grand bazaar. Helpful staff. Amazing view from the roof. I highly recommend everyone hotel darussaade.

All previous reviews stating friendliness of staff are correct. The staff has zero attitude, are very helpful and friendly. This is not a luxury hotel and you shouldn't expect the standard "mod cons" of modern hotels. It is a very old wooden building that has been renovated and so has its quirks. For example the only power outlet in my room (that was not already occupied by the TV or the light) was right next to (I mean on the frame of) the exit door of my room. Rather annoying.
And the rooms are on the small side. Depending on which room you are in (I saw several) it can be rather dark in the room during day time because of the size and the position of the windows.
Nevertheless, the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great. Spacious with floor the ceiling marble.
Note that the heating is by way of a ceiling A/C unit. Our room was initially quite cold and it took several hours of the A/C being on to get the whole room heated up. But the heating does work.
The location - if you want to be in the touristic old town - can't be better. It's just 3-5 mins walking distance to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Just remember that Istanbul is a very very big city. Chose your location depending on what activities are your priority. If you are big on night life you might prefer to be in the Taksim/Beyoglu area.

If you stay in the spring/summer months, there is a terrace with a view of the sea on one side and the Blue Mosque on the other. Beautiful. Breakfast is served there during spring/summer. I would say just the terrace breakfast would be a major highlight of the day.

Thanks to Darussaade that made our stay in Istanbul fantastic. The perfect location in the heart of Sultanahmet, close to all major attractions. Friendly staff ready to help you with anything. Clean and comfy rooms with a great Turkish breakfast. Whatelse should we ask more? I would recommend to any friends with no hesitation.

Cost data : GBP 65 (TL 251 ) per room per night incl breakfast, (4 nights Wed to Sun).

We chose this hotel because of it's Trip Advisor rating - not stayed in a hotel in Istanbul before. I was not disappointed. This is a 'Special License' hotel which means it is a converted Ottoman House and plays to it's historical features rather than the 'chain hotel' mentality. (Good for us, I dislike soulless corporate hotels). It feels like a home rather than a hotel.

The location is excellent being less than a 5 minute walk away from The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and 10 minutes to the Topkapi Palce and Harem. It took us about 20 minutes to walk down to the Gelata Bridge and Grand Bazaar areas. There are plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. (the area feels safe too, even at night)

The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. They gave us useful information regarding tourist attractions, offered to lend us Tram Cards (which need to be topped up with cash of course, but saves the hassle of getting a card in the first place), and helped us organise our return airport transfer.

The hotel room was spotlessly clean and had modern bathroom fittings. Breakfast, although not the best I've ever had, was nonetheless quite good with a fair selection available from a buffet. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

I would confirm the findings of previous Trip Advisor reviewers, and say this is definitely a good place to stay - you will not be disappointed ! I would happily come here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique so advising on this a bit difficult - we had room 210 which was about 20sq.m, a...

We stayed in this hotel for a week, and we really enjoyed our stay! Helpful reception staff, very good location and excellent breakfast buffet. At the last 3 days Istanbul was very sunny and we had our breakfast at the terrace with the nice view of the city. Overall we had great experience at Darussaade hotel and we will be definetly back! The only thing that I can say, they can add some populer cocktails to the drink menu at the terrace bar

Great old style boutique hotel. Each room decorated differently. We stayed Pasha Room, think this one is the luxury one. It has its own turkish bath inside. Strongly suggest.
Staff were very polite. Breakfast was magnificent. Hotel was very close to all important spots in sultanahmet region. We walked all the time.

A good hotel in a nice quiet location, very convenient to major attractions. Very helpful staff.
When walking out at night we felt very safe and soon developed a rapour with the local restaurants and shops. Would not hesitate to use the Darussaade when next in Istanbul
