“Located in the the heart of Istanbul- could not have asked for anything more”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013 via mobile

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. We wanted to stay in the vicinity of Sultanahmet but at the same time somewhere discreet and affordable. Having visited other hotels, we can assure you this by far is the cleanest. The hotel staff are very polite and the service is brilliant.
Having stayed for such a short time, we were able to see the main attractions in Istanbul and dine at some divine restaurants as we were within walking distance.
Only problem we had were 1) electricity went out twice in one evening (not the hotels fault) and 2) walls were slightly thin.

Nonetheless, thank you Berce Hotel, we will return in due time :-)

This hotel is easily reached by train and by tram from IST airport. Mehmet, the proprietor will take care of anything you need while you are there. The rooms are large by European standards and the full breakfast on the roof overlooking the entrance to the Bospherous and the Blue Mosque are the highlights of the day. The only minor concern we had was the relative thinness of the walls. If you are highly sensitive to noise I would not stay at this hotel. The charm and affordable nature of this hotel balance out any shortcomings. The only thing I would request of Mehmet would be to put detailed drawings up on their website to show how to walk to the hotel from the Sultanahment tram stop - it is less than 3/4 mile away. We had a bad experience with a short cab ride - but it in no way was the fault of the hotel.

Room Tip: It is a 4-floor walk up.

Thanks a lot to the hotel staff for giving us a great stay there, very beautiful room with 3 small balconies looking at different views, nice restaurant with terrace and serving tasty breakfast.

the 3 receptionists were very friendly and helpful they gladly helped us with a big smile with any questions and needed information.
would definitely recommend it to my friends, and would go there again if i stay at sultanahmet again.

We booked this hotel based on previous reviews onTripAdvisor. Though our trip was 5 months after the reviews we read, everything was as described by the best reviewers. We stayed at Berce for 8 days over the Christmas period, from 20th December to 28th 2012. We had room 105 on the first floor, which was very warm, welcoming, comfortable, and three little balconies. The adjoining bathroom, had shower and a cute little sit in bath. The standard of cleaning was very good. For English travellers, the kettle and cups in the room as well as the bar fridge (to store our milk) were extremely welcome. We breakfasted each morning on the roof terrace, which overlooked the Sea of Marmara and all the maritime activities. The breakfast each morning was freshly cooked by Mama Nouri and was absolutely delicious and varied. Sufficient for all the guests. Mehmet and Sirgan who were the reception staff could not have been more helpful and informative. There English was absolutely perfect and were able to share many conversations about modern Turkey. The hotel was conveniently situated in the Sultanhamet district within very easy walking of all the historic sites, and also the famous fish restaurants on the quayside. We were warmly welcomed and soon began to feel part of the family. The whole experience was unforgetable and we are making plans to return and certainly are recommending Istanbut and Berce to friends and family for a friendly, memorable trip. Linda and Greta

Highly recommend this hotel- ideally situated in the midst of the old city , only a a very short walk to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya . Our host Mehmet was very gracious and our room very comfortable . The breakfast on the roof terrace at the start of each day was really something to look forward to , very fresh produce from the families farm in eastern Turkey, and home cooked pastries..the cheeses , amazing honey , yoghurt and dried fruit( especially the apricots) were a total treat. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
We found Taksim a good location for dining out- only a short train ride from Sultanahmet on the T1.
Also recommend very highly the Turkish Bath at Cemberlitas- 10 minute walk from hotel ( go the 30euro option)- it great.
Don't forget to take a ferry ride over to Asia (Kadikoy)from Eminomu- a different feel and some good dining options as well.
Definitely definitely try the stuffed mussels from the street stalls in Kadikoy.
Thanks for a great stay...

This was our last stop on a trip to Greece and Turkey, and it was definitely the best place we stayed--the perfect end to our trip. The hotel is charming, the rooms are on the small side (as is to be expected from a boutique hotel in the middle of a city) but were comfortable and clean. Mehmet and Serkan at the front desk were incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful with recommendations, transportation questions, etc. I can't say enough about their wonderful service.

Breakfast is delicious and has a beautiful view over the Bosphorus. The location is great--an easy walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Istanbul.
