“Beyond Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We stayed at TomTom during our annual vacation in Istanbul. After reading very helpful reviews on Tripadvisor we narrowed down on TomTom. While we normally prefer staying at a reputed chain/brand it was a very decision to choose TomTom. The place is designed very tastefully and the rooms are very well appointed and equipped (read: Molton Brown toiletries, nespresso coffee machines in each room etc). If you want a good size room the Classic Suite is very apt although the Standard Suite is just as good. If you want something HUGE the deluxe suite is your answer!

The hotel has an invaluable asset in Nural (Guest Relations Manager). To cut a long story short: He is your one man army for anything you need in Istanbul...sightseeing tips to getting dinner reservations at the best tables in town...Nural is your man!

Overall: would highly recommend the place and would definitely choose Istanbul as and when we visit next!

We just got back from an amazing stay at the Tomtom Suites. It was great being in Istanbul with the political debate raging. We always felt safe, and it was a fascinating time to be there. As for Tomtom, we could not have been happier with the hotel. The location is perfect, as it is near Istiklal Street and the view of the river and mosques is wonderful. We had an incredible room on the top (6th floor) with a huge balcony, and our kids (17 and 15) had the room next door. Perfect family set up.

While the hotel is stylish and well-situated, what makes it really stand out is the service. Nural helped over email before we left on numerous issues from tour guides to restaurants, and he and others on their staff we just as helpful we were there, sitting us down and orienting us when we arrived and always making us feel extremely welcome.. Our teenage kids felt the same way. Breakfast on the roofdeck was also a great way to start each day.

I will also toss in here a recommendation for pefect guides to work with, either Eda or Sinan Sokmen of their own sister and brother owed company, Istanbulite. Check out their website. Nural recommended them and they were awesome. We spent three days with them, two with Sinan and one with Eda. They are bright, energetic and extremely knowledgeable about both Turkish history and all of the sites. They customized a perfect three days of touring for us, working with us responsively over email before we came to plan it out and then making adaptions after we arrived. They took us around in a Mercedes van, which was always waiting for us, took us to all the main sites, set up a private yacht cruise on the Bosphorus and, most of all, were just delightful folks with whom to spend time on vacation. I could not recommend either Tomtom Suites or the Istanbulite team of Eda and Sinan Sokmen more highly. Thanks to all of you for helping us have an unforgettable trip in Turkey.

Room Tip: If you can get the rooms on the 6th floor with the big deck, you'll love it.

Outstanding location with easy downhill access to tram stop, Istanbul Modern, Bosphorus and an uphill climb to Istiklal Caddesi. Quiet setting amongst gracious consulate buildings in a security controlled road. The building 'Old Franciscan Home' has been beautifully renovated with high ceilings, stylish furniture, contemporary art.
Our classic suite ( Rm 26) situated at the back of the hotel was quiet, very comfortable, spacious and stylish with a marble bathroom. The 4th floor breakfast room terrace has an outstanding view across the mosque and Bosphorus. Breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of quality food including omelets to order and staff were very friendly.
The restaurant 'La Mouette' at night was disappointing....the view was the winner while the food was inconsistent (excellent starters, poor mains with one beef dish being tough and inedible) prices are high...service excellent.
Room for improvement...room not serviced by 3.30pm after being out since 8am, and the misleading coffee/tea information ...Nespresso is not complimentary.
Overall a quality boutique hotel in an excellent location...recommended.

I loved everything about the hotel! The staff were so welcoming, having us sit and wait while they sorted out our checkin, and we enjoyed dinner on the rooftop the first evening, which was fresh, delicious and came with stunning views. The room was huge, with a comfortable king bed, and a pillow menu. The bathroom is all marble, and just gorgeous.

The hotel is well located, easy to get to all of the main sites, and all of the details are very stylish, and feel like excellent quality.

The breakfast is very fresh and tasty (fresh fruits, quiche, breads, and much more).

I definitely will return next time I travel here.

World class boutique hotel. Beautiful Spacious rooms, well appointed amenities, huge marble bathroom (huge bath tub and double sink and large shower), perfect comfort bed, fine linens.

The hotel is first class design - restored monastery. The elevator, the art throughout, the interiors, the comfortable library, the lobby area -- all first class and inviting.

Sumptuous healthy breakfast from beautiful roof terrace overlooking the city skyline. Drinks on the roof top are great too.

The hotel service is first rate and Nural the Concierge will go to the end of the earth for his clients. He made reservations, discussed politics, recommended great restaurants and provided hand drawn map directions -- all with the warmest personality imaginable.

The location is good -- in Beyogolu area -- a mix of old and new and on a secure side street they share with Italian Consulate. It appears on the map that Istkitlal Street is close -- and it is -- but the hill to get to Iskitlal is extraordinarily steep - it would be challenging for most to walk to. It is a short and inexpensive cab ride away. There are some excellent restaurants in walking distance or under 5mins by cab. Excellent complimentary wifi and bottled water (key in Turkey!).

This hotel was simply outstanding - I recommend strongly and look forward to returning some day!

Room Tip: We were on the third floor -- third and fourth floors had very good views. I only saw another room...

Tomtom Suites are well located to visit most of the "must do" attractions in Istanbul with the tram station only a few minutes walk at the bottom of the street. Our room was huge and well furnished with a super ensuite bathroom. The hotel was spotless and the staff could not be more helpful, especially the staff on the reception desk. Food in the roof top restuarant was first class if a little pricey and again the service very attentive and speedy. If you like small classy hotels then this is one for you. Highly recommended.

I have travelled and stayed at hotels all over the world and believe me Tom Tom Suites exceeded expectations on all levels.
The hotel is super clean and smells delicious. The hotel employees whether at reception, concierge or in the restaurant were all EXTREMELY helpful, kind and love their job. My partner a stomach bug, after eating in a 5star famous hotel restaurant, which shall remained unnamed. The staff could not have made us feel more at home following this unfortunate event. They made sure my partner was comfortable and had all he needed, but also made sure I was entertained and took well care of me.
Forget large hotel chains- boutique hotels like this one, are the ones to choose if you're looking for a more human experience.
Ps: The breakfasts re amazing and the views from the restaurant, superb!
