“A perfect hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

We stayed at the Osmanhan for 2 nights, our flight was an early morning arrival at Istanbul, usually hotels are fussy about checking in early, however at Osmanhan we were welcomed wholeheartedly by Fatih the receptionist. He spoke excellent English and we were sent to the terrace for breakfast whilst our room was prepared within 30 minutes.
The hotel is central to the sights of Sultanhamet and within walking distance to the tram stop and restaurants. It is extremely clean and all the staff are really helpful, recommending good places to eat and see. The breakfast is a buffet with plenty of food, delicious pastries and figs.I loved the power shower and there was plenty of hot water.
The hotel is a very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to experience Istanbul.

We had room 22 on the first floor (with view over the street in front) It was clean and nicely furnished, if a little small for a 5 night stay, but the room was lovely and warm and the shower was powerful and there was always hot water. Breakfast was lovely, simple but fresh with lovely omlettes and brown bread, fresh meat, cheese, fruit etc. Staff were lovely, both on reception desk and at breakfast. Bed was comfortable.
A steep walk up to the Blue Mosque, about 10 minutes at a slow pace, there are restaurants 500 metres away but they are a bit expensive, but nice if you`re so exhausted you can`t be bothered to walk.
I can`t really add much more - it`s good value, clean and the staff are great

We stayed two nights and received a great welcome from Fatih at the front desk. He was friendly, helpful and professional. He spoke English beautifully and helped us out when we had a change of itinerary and needed help with our air tickets. We stayed in a ground floor double which is the hotel's lowest cost room. It was very clean and comfortable. We thought it was a good value. The location is wonderful...so close to all of the historic sights. The rooftop breakfast room afforded nice views of the river and the Blue Mosque as well. The breakfast was tasty. I would stay again.

We were on a short two day stay in Instanbul as a couple, on cramming historic visit!

Located in the heart of Old Town this hotel is ideally situated to visit all the historic sight in Istanbul with ease! On first appearance Osmanhan Hotel doesnt look like much but step inside to a hotel with character and charm.

We came in very late and were welcomed to room (42) with a very swift check in as all we wanted to do was hit the sack, still we were kindly handed maps so we could hit the ground running when we woke up.

Our room was adequately sized, clean, well furnished with a nice view of the Bosphorus.
The bathroom although small had a lovely hot and powerful shower, which is all you need.

Breakfast on the roof top lacked a bit of variety but was tasty and the staff keen to make you whatever you fel like.

The hotel is located near some very nice restaurants, however be aware as the Four Seasons is in the same area most places to eat in the area are fairly expensive. The hotel does have a deal with a nearby restaurant for 10% off and it was very good as the hotel guaranteed it would be!

We used the shuttle service to and from the airport which was punctual and fairly reasonably priced.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat, even more so considering the price of other hotels in the area.

Also recommended is the Blue Tours, Instanbul full day tour also on Tripadvisor.

My sister and I stayed at the Osmanhan Hotel at the end of October for 5 nights and we absolutely loved it! The location was excellent and the staff was beyond excellent. During our time there, we felt as if we were staying with family.
We came in on a late night/early morning flight and took a cab to the hotel, which cost 40 TL. Once at the hotel, we were checked in within less than 5 minutes. Our room was room 11, right behind the reception desk on the first floor. This meant not having to climb any flights after a long day of traveling, which we were thankful for.
The breakfast every morning was plentiful, varied, tasty and served on their rooftop terrace, which had a great view of the Bosphorus and the Asian side of Istanbul. Fatimeh (I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong) never let the serving platters empty. Mehmet never let our tea cups empty. I expressed appreciation for the quality of the figs that they were serving and wanted to know where they bought them from, as I wished to take some back for our mom. Not only was I given an extra few figs to eat throughout the day, the owner (Mustafa) gave me a package of figs to take home for my mom! Where do you find service like that? My sister asked for ice one day but Osmanhan did not have any on hand so Mustafa asked Mehmet to go get some, even though we asked them not to worry about it. I was absolutely bowled over by the level of customer service provided by this hotel.
Fatih and the other young man at reception were a wealth of information in regard to local sights, tram routes, restaurants, etc. It was apparent that they knew what they were talking about.
The hotel is within easy walking distance to all of the main sights of Istanbul and to the tram. We also took the tram back to the airport, which took approximtely 1 hour, including our walk from the hotel to the tram station.
Suffice it to say that if we were in Istanbul again, we would not even think about staying anywhere other than the Osmanhan!

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in early October in room 11 on the ground floor. The room was compact but sufficient in all respects. We had no noise issues. To us the Osmanhan had no shortcomings and our experience there was all positive. The rooftop terrace is a real gem. Our breakfasts there were ample and varied. We had good wifi reception in our room - unlike some other hotels during our travels in Turkey. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Fatih provided us with excellent restaurant recommendations both nearby and in Kadiköy on the Asian side of the Sea of Marmara. We highly recommend the Osmanhan.
