“Great location, with incredible rooms and service, I wondered how I could take this back to Vancouver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2010

The staff was fantastic, the location was excellent, I walked up to Taxim area at nite and felt safe, during day I walked over the bridge to tour the attractions around Sophia and Blue Mosque. (Sophia is a MUST see). The room was incredible, large, new, King bed with a great view, I luv the shower. I actually took photos of the room, the only other time I have done that is at the Venetian at Vegas. You definitely feel at home in the hotel. First time in Istanbul, but I will definitely stay here next time.

The suites are beautiful and the staff can't do enough for you. Showers are heavenly! A perfect place to experience a bit of luxury and in a good place to get away from the more obviously tourist area of sultanhamet. Several lovely restaurants within walking distance and also very close to IStaklal street with lots of shops, cafes and bars. Easy to get to the tourist sites too.

Arrived at the hotel in a taxi after a 3 hour flight from Oslo. Taxi is the way to go from the airport to the hotel by the way. The hotel is located in the middle of a very steep street/hill, so unless you want to carry your suitcase up that hill... take a taxi.

Friendly welcome at the front-desk, and was given a suite on a high floor as I´d requested.

The suite was just amazing. Big comfy bed, kitchen with all the necessary equipment, and a nespresso machine. Minibar was quite expensive, but buy what you need at the local supermarket up the street instead. Leather sofa, flat-screen TV, DVD-player, and a big bathroom. No tub though, but the shower compensate for that. There´s no restaurant in the hotel, but they´ll get you whatever you want at any hour. Breakfast was served in the room, and was just amazing.

The location of the hotel is very good. On the new side of Istanbul, not far from Taksim in a cosy and quiet neighborhood. If you follow the street up the hill you´ll get to Taksim, down the hill to the tram that takes you to Sulthanamet, Grand Bazar and Hagia Sofia.

Would definitely stay again!!!

We stayed in 3 hotels on our 8 day trip to Istanbul and the Witt was the best bang for the buck. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are super hip and it's in a good central location (easy to get anywhere). The Beyoglu neighborhood has everything; cafes, bars, night clubs, antiques, trendy stores, local food and hip restaurants.

This Residence, with its homely chic, has been conceived with the right balance of youthful, contemporary yet classic arrangement of elements, so as to always feel delighted by its discovery yet at home and relaxed.

The guys (and they all are young cool sexy men) who make the place tick, are all happy helpful, and charismatic.

A must stay, I will def. be back, next time I promised myself the penthouse or at least a room with the sea view over the Bos.

The idea behind is spectacular. You find an ordinary 70s building in chic location, near Taxim but not that too near to this crazy square, and you hire the best Turkish designers, Autoban (a must-do is to visit their shop in Pera) to turn it into a luxury suites hotel. The rooms are impeccable: function meets beauty in a way that could become a case-study for other hotels!
The staff is very polite, the toiletries are from Molton Brown and the breakfast has quality (albeit nothing to shout about!!). The city is indeed spectacular, one of the great cities of the world but in my opinion with a great down-side (read below).

Few suggestions:

The restaurant recommendations need to be again very well thought-off. At the moment i write this review (on my 3d day) we have had only bad dinners. To be fair, only one tavern was recommended to us (Sofiyali 9) from the hotel and we went there on a new year eve BUT the food seems to be an issue in this great city, sorry guys but the food quality i had ranged from disgusting to medium!!!! I think that such a hotel should really try to find the best in restaurants, if possible in the vicinity, and warm the guests about the problematic food scene. And the guests should really do some homework before they come to Istanbul if they want to eat properly (and not pay a fortune).

A small massage room would be a nice addition as the hotel, other than the great rooms, seem to not cater to the other needs that a modern traveller might have, such as some kind of spa facilities or a good restaurant or some nice in-hotel bar where locals would also frequent.

Overall a great hotel!

we stayed in Dec. 2009 in witt istanbul suites and it was worth it. The room is very beautiful, the decoration is stylish, very clean, spacious and compfortable! The service provided lived up to our expectations, as the staff was friendly and ready to help us anytime. The location is central, not on the taxim square (which is better, because its noisy), but very close to it, walking distance from it and from the tram. I liked it and i will definitely go there again, when i visit Istanbul, which by the way, is a magical city, a combination of modern and traditional. People are friendly, having a good time going out and dancing, drinking, listening to music, and on the other hand you see everywhere the muslim element of living. In the bathroom, the shower is unique, because of its structure. We stayed on the 1st floor, so the view of the city was poor, but the inside of the hotel compensates for this, plus i dont think the view is very important parameter. Tipp: negotiate everything on the bazaar, these people love it, its in their blood, at the beginning i was feeling weird about negotiating a price, but they expect you to negotate, its weird if you dont do it! Last but not least, the hamam experience! Its a must, you see what im talking about, when you do it. Just look for trustworthy places. Good luck!
