“Like a Design Magazine with Amazing Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

I can not say enough good about this hotel. We arrived in Istanbul via cruise ship, and were nervous about being "taken for a ride" by the taxis. Also, as this hotel is slightly away from the hotel and tourist hub, we were worried the driver might not know the way. I called the hotel from the ship and they said when you get to the taxi stand, just dial our number and hand the phone to the driver. They also said, the fare should be X, if they charge you more, just send
the driver into the hotel and we'll deal with it. Later when we left the hotel, we were handed a small card with the directions to the hotel in Turkish to hand to any driver. The people at the reception desk spoke excellent English and were more than helpful and patient in answering questions about local attractions. The hearty (included) breakfast every morning had a large number of choices of meats, eggs, fruits and breads. The elevator that takes you from the lobby upstairs has delightful artwork depicting a life size elevator operator who goes through a variety of moods as you go from floor to floor. There is also good public transport just a couple of blocks down the (very steep) hill, taking you over an inlet of the Bosphorus
River into the heart of historic Istanbul and the harbor in less than 10 minutes.

Our room on the fourth floor was large, clean, and beautiful. Four floor to ceiling windows, two of which looked across the water to the mosques on the opposite side. Leather couch, designer touches everywhere, rain water shower head, excellent bed and pillows. Kitchenette, but we didn't use it.

I really cannot say enough good things about the service and the surroundings. I'll definitely return.

We just spent three wonderful nights in the Penthouse room of this great hotel. Talk about service.... It was superb. They spent over 30 minutes showing us a map and really making sure we understood how to get around and how to get where we wanted to go....Now about our room.... the penthouse.... WELL worth the dollars!!!! The view was unbelievable.... the Bosporus, the Blue Mosque and Ava Sofia were directly in front of us. At night the lights were so beautiful. We never closed our drapes. The room has a wraparound porch and we had breakfast brought up to us each day (at no extra charge). The breakfast was great and what a way to start your day. The room was very large and very comfortable with very modern décor. The only slight negative, is that it is a steep hike from the tram. We solved the problem by taking the tram to the next stop and walking down instead of hiking up. Oh.... the elevator run by Mr. Witt brings a smile with each different floor.....

Room Tip: Spend the money for the penthouse......

We stayed here with our family at the beginning and at the end of our trip. It is a wonderful, small hotel with a very modern and crisp aesthetic. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful! The rooms were large and very well appointed. I think they are one of the best designed hotel rooms and bathrooms, in terms of the details and fixtures they chose. And the location was great, in a non-touristy, trendy neighborhood. It is a short walk down a steep hill to get to the tram which will take you everywhere you want to go. And if you want some great restaurants, you just walk up the narrow streets and you will find a vast selection of restaurants, bars, and cafes. As the neighborhood is quite hilly, I would not recommend the hotel though for people who have difficulty walking up and down steep streets.

Room Tip: the higher the better, in terms of views and noise level

It was a pleasure to stay at Witt Istanbul. We really appreciated the help and wonderful service of all staff members. Our suite was sparkling clean, beautifully designed, spacious and joy to return to after staring at ancient Istanbul.

Room Tip: Room 52 is a winner. Views and scale.

Very beatiful hotel with nice staff, the only problem that we face is our stay was in Ramadan and they did not provide a meal instead of breakfast as most hotels in Istanbul do.

This hotel is absolutely delightful. We stayed there for two nights. The suite was beautiful and the front desk staff are very helpful. We easily navigated the city with their directions. There are many restuarants in the neighborhood nearby and it is very nice to be away from the crowded tourist area in the evening. I would highly recommend staying at the Witt!!

Room Tip: Our room was on the 5th floor and had a great view of the city.

We had a fantastic experience and stay at the Witt Istanbul Suites. It was very clean and nicely decorated with Autobahn design furniture. All staff members were friendly and service minded, especially Onur, who I guess is native American due to his excellent English/language skills and understanding of excellent service.

We had a lovely room (no. 62) on the top floor with a big terrace - with great views over the Bosporus and the historical peninsula. Breakfast was served in our room at no extra charge, which was highly appreciated. It was very obvious that the owner and management of this hotel focus on good service and guest satisfaction.

The only negative thing I could say is regarding the sound from the room next to us. The walls of the hotel are so thin that you can clearly hear other people coming/leaving (and doing other things in their room) during the night, which was a bit disturbing. As the elevator was just outside the room, you also heard the sound from it. I would recommend that something is done about this.
If you are looking for a small and modern boutique hotel in a quiet location with excellent service, this is the place to go. We had a much better stay than expected and would definitely stay at the Witt Istanbul Suites again if we return to Istanbul. However, when you go to Istanbul, be careful with cab/taxi drivers, who try to fool you.
