I can not say enough good about this hotel. We arrived in Istanbul via cruise ship, and were nervous about being "taken for a ride" by the taxis. Also, as this hotel is slightly away from the hotel and tourist hub, we were worried the driver might not know the way. I called the hotel from the ship and they said when you get to the taxi stand, just dial our number and hand the phone to the driver. They also said, the fare should be X, if they charge you more, just send
the driver into the hotel and we'll deal with it. Later when we left the hotel, we were handed a small card with the directions to the hotel in Turkish to hand to any driver. The people at the reception desk spoke excellent English and were more than helpful and patient in answering questions about local attractions. The hearty (included) breakfast every morning had a large number of choices of meats, eggs, fruits and breads. The elevator that takes you from the lobby upstairs has delightful artwork depicting a life size elevator operator who goes through a variety of moods as you go from floor to floor. There is also good public transport just a couple of blocks down the (very steep) hill, taking you over an inlet of the Bosphorus
River into the heart of historic Istanbul and the harbor in less than 10 minutes.
Our room on the fourth floor was large, clean, and beautiful. Four floor to ceiling windows, two of which looked across the water to the mosques on the opposite side. Leather couch, designer touches everywhere, rain water shower head, excellent bed and pillows. Kitchenette, but we didn't use it.
I really cannot say enough good things about the service and the surroundings. I'll definitely return.
