“Great hotel, Top class service from brilliant staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

We stayed in the Four Seasons in Istanbul for a city break in September for 5 nights.
It is a fantastic property with ideal positioning within this beautiful, but mad city.
We used all facilities and could find no fault. The staff were the best I have experienced in a
hotel like this. I found the staff had the professionalism of the four seasons along with the kindness and willingness of the turkish culture. This resulted in a very polished well trained team.
The rooms are big and spacious, the usual four seasons bedding really comfortable. The pool area is lovely alongside the Bosphorus. We dined outside on the giant terrace and veranda area which was spacious, very relaxing with great food and service. Spa was lovely but very very expensive. We will return as we really enjoyed the hotel and city.

Room Tip: Rooms in the palace are bright with great views with windows going from floor to ceiling.

Very good hotel. Excellent service. Location a little too far from the old town.
Wish there was an informal coffee shop for light lunch, supper and breakfast. Aqua too formal.
No problem during stay. Lovely, romantic views and setting.

Many local weddings during our stay - not surprising but does make the hotel very busy.

Sitting on a rocking bench on the stone paved deck by the Bosphorus river at the Four Season hotel, was a moment that is etched in my mind. The torches gave the the cool night a soft glow. We gazed at the twinkling lights on the hills on the other side of the river, with a glass of wine in hand, and thought what a magical place.

Everything is great about the hotel. The room, facilities and services are what you would expect at a Four Seasons hotel. The food was terrific. One of the best features is the big sparking pool by the Bosphorus river.

The hotel is located outside the core of the old city where most of the tourist sights are. To us, the serenity you gain by staying here outweighs the 20 minute car ride into the old city, which never bothered us.

I stayed here for four nights in September for work and couldn't have been happier. I arrived at 1:15am and the desk staff were awake, helpful and very friendly. They even took me right up to my room, probably to make sure that I didn't fall asleep on the way there!

I had a courtyard view room so didn't bother looking out of the window. That didn't matter thought because the room was gorgeous. Lots of space, full sized desk, arm chair, window seat as well as a huge wardrobe and bar area. I always think that you can tell you're in a good hotel when you look at the bedding and, at the Four Seasons, the bedding is beautiful. Fluffy duvet and lovely pillows which were so comfortable. I was out like a light every night. The bathroom was also fab; all marble and a bath so deep you could get the water up to your neck with no issues.

I had a selection of lovely food in the hotel, including the buffet breakfast on the terrace, which was brilliant. I would highly recommend it. I also had room service dinner one night, which was just as good.

The spa was lovely, with a good sized indoor pool and giant jacuzzi. The treatments looked very expensive so I didn't partake.

Overall, fabulous hotel with super service. I would go back in a heartbeat!

I stay in this hotel 3-4 times a year and each time I check out with 100 % satisfaction. The best service you can get. Outside pool and SPA is excellent. Rooms are always comfy, fantastic marble bathroom. Compared to Kempsinki Istanbul very quiet, less crowded reception and lobby area, rooms are much nicer and better service. Without any hesitation I would recommend this hotel for the first time goers and Istanbul lovers.

I work in Afghanistan, so the chance to meet up with my family for a few days was precious time away from chaos and conflict.

Where to stay?

I travel all the time, and am a regular visitor to Istanbul. Good friends working at Robert College in the city advised me that the best choice for us was the Four Seasons Istanbul on the Bosphorus.

The hotel is an experience as much as a place to stay. The terrace along the edge of the Bosphorus is best at dusk with the boat and ferry traffic so close by. The outdoor swimming pool is the finest in the city, and the health club and hammam are places to retreat to on days when the weather turns cold and damp.

Typical of all Four Seasons properties, the staff were extraordinarily professional and committed to meeting our every need. The rooms were superlative...and we especially appreciated the hotel's reflection of Turkish culture and design.

If you need to be where the action is...then perhaps choose the sister property in Sultanahmet. But the Four Seasons on the Bosphorus reminded me of the Cipriani in Venice in its glory days:It's a hotel to be savored.

My only recommendation to the management: the hotel should offer a free of charge boat (something wooden and classic) to shuttle guests from the hotel to Eminou or Kabatas, so that the city's biggest attractions would be easily accessible. Traffic in front of the hotel can trap guests for extended periods...so why not embrace and make use of the Bosphorus in every possible way?

Take a lesson from the Cipriani, which provides a memorable ride on their own very special boat every 30 minutes from Piazza San Marco to the hotel's dock.

Dear PeterCanoe,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed review about your visit in January. We are delighted to read that both you and your family had an enjoyable stay with us. We also would like to take this opportunity to thank your friends for recommending us.

Please be advised that I will share this post with Four Seasons Bosphorus team as nothing can be a greater motivator than our guests' comments. We also noted your suggestion for a shuttle (boat) and appreciate the feedback. This summer we started offering airport transfers by a luxury private boat, which definitely helps our guests to avoid traffic.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the nearest future.

The Four Seasosn Bosphorus is a first-rate hotel in every aspect: superb service, comfortable and spacious rooms, outstanding outdoor pool, and matchless spa. The business center is very helpful, and the concierge service is impeccable. The outdoor bar and restaurant are next to one of the most historic waterways on the planet--the Bosphorus. Like all Four Seasons, it is pricy, but you do get here what you pay for. It is about a 15 or 20 minute cab ride to the historic center (Sultanahmet), where there is another Four Seasons hotel. The views from the pool, the restaurant, and the outdoor bar are sublime.
