“Perfect place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We have stayed at this hotel for 4 days and what can I say. It was perfect in every way. 5 mins walk to everywhere. I recommend it.
Breakfast had enough choice for every one. I do recommend you ask for second or third floor. We were on the first floor which was nice but as its sea facing hotel, you need to be higher to be able to see it. In first floor, you can't see anything.

“Great location, very poor service!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012 via mobile

Clueless staff that don't give a damn. They never answered emails for transportation from the airport, despite they told me they would. They could have at least replay back saying they could not. There is not a soul on the staff that cared at all. Missing a manager that care!! Bad internet connection. Good location....

“Disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Our group of three stayed at this hotel for three nights. We had reserved a suite room, but the problems started as soon as we arrived. The receptionist told us that our suite wasn´t ready, and we would have to spend the first night in two separate rooms. Since we booked our stay several months ago, we were a little suprised that our room was not available.
We didn´t even get an apology, instead we were implied that since the two rooms combined are more expensive than the suite, we are actually the lucky ones!
The next morning ( after breakfast around 8 am, during which one of our rooms was already visited by the cleaning lady, who kindly took the small amount of money my friend had left the table), we went to receptionist to ask if our suite was ready, as promised. We asked him twice just to be sure, and twice he told us "yes, no problem". So we packed our bags, returned to the desk, only to be told that the room would be available after noon, but that our bags could be stored until then at the storage room behind their desk. Great service again. Since we didn´t feel like waiting, we had to rummage through our luggage in the lobby to get our umbrellas, jackets etc. so we could hit the town.
In the evening when we came back to the hotel, we finally got our "suite". This suite was located at the ground floor with windows to the street, it´s size was around 30-35 m2, as opposed to 70 which is what it says at the hotel´s website. "The private kitchenette that offers a convenient way to prepare meals" ( as promised in the room description) was actually a sink and a tap located in one of the closets. Considering that the tap water in Istanbul is not even suitable for drinking, one would need quite a lively imagination to cook meals with this setup. The jacuzzi was a normal, small bathtub, barely large enough for an adult. The jacuzzi did actually work, but since we practically had no hot water at all during our stay, the appeal of the jacuzzi was slightly compromised.
The location is good, the spa was okay, as was the breakfast ( hence the two stars). The staff was not very polite, when we asked some advice about local transports, they did help, but apparently a smile was just too much to ask.
I´ve stayed in many 2-3 star hotels, and had no problem with them. I don´t expect anything special from a hotel, nor do I expect to be treated like a royal. But I like to get what is promised and what I´m paying for, and if the hotel makes mistakes, I do like to get compensated, or even apologised to. This hotel was below par, not at all what it was supposed to be. Since we stayed for only three nights, we didn´t bother arguing since we didn´t want to ruin our short stay any more. Istanbul was a nice city, but if I visit it again, it will definitely be at some other hotel.
