“Beautiful views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is a small boutique hotel, beautifully presented. It has modern decor and quality bath products, including a full-length window in the shower).
Very helpful staff, especially in the restaurant.
We stayed in four different hotels in 2 weeks in Istanbul, and this had by far the best views.
Very centrally located, close to upmarket shopping precinct off Taksim Square in Istiklal Ave., as well as the arty area around Galata Tower, ( at the end of Istiklal Ave.).
It is a short Metro ride to the chaos of the Old City and the Blue Mosque.
Lots of amasing, world class restaurants in the area.

Room Tip: Pick a high room with a great view at night of the ever-changing lights on the Bosphorus Bridge.

We (two couples) stayed here for two nights. Really nice & modern hotel. Just a 5 minute walk to the Taksim square which is really great. Don't really need a cab to get anywhere. Also the Metro is really close so you can basically use the public transportation (which is definitely the fastest) to get anywhere.

Rooms are really nice with big shower. We had the park view room which was absolutely fine. Also breakfast buffet is really nice.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We stayed at the Gezi Hotel Bosphorous from March 30 - April 3, 2013. We got a good rate through Jetsetter.

Room: While the corner room was neither on a corner, nor had a Bosphorous view, the rooms were very comfortable and I was happy enough that I didn't complain. The smaller room was adequate for the kids but would have been cozy for two adults. The larger room had an adjoining sitting room with a balcony with wonderful view of the Bosphorous.

Bathroom: Great. Molton Brown supplies. Roomy enough.

Service: Mixed.
Staff were very friendly and any request was quickly attended to. Check in was efficient enough.
However, the staff were laughably unhelpful in finding local restaurants or planning itineraries. I always felt their recommendations were based on friendships with the recommended establishments. For instance, on our arrival night we asked for seafood recommendations nearby, noting we wanted good food but that convenience was important. Instead of directing us to one of the many restaurants in or about Beyoglu (5 minutes walking), they directed us to a restaurant that was a 30 TL cab ride away. That said, once recognized, the free wifi allows the resourceful to find local guidance.
Directions to local attractions were difficult to follow but we were able to use wifi to map out our routes before leaving.

Breakfast: Excellent. Lots of fresh choices. Service with a smile.

Location: Outstanding. 2 minutes from Taksim Square.

Room Tip: Bosphorous views are beautiful.

hotel is not big but service is wonderful, rooms are modern and clean although a bit small. location is perfect, right in the center of taksim square with a good 5-10 min walk to beyoglu where the stores and restaurants are located. rooms have free wifi. breakfast buffet is very good with high quality food items. i would definitely stay in this hotel again in my next trip back to istanbul.

Great place. I'd like to thank Dilhan from reception for making us feel as if we were VIP guests at the Waldorf Astoria. We never made it up in time for breakfast. Too much great nightlife in walking distance from the hotel. But, I hear the breakfast spread is good. Hotel is small enough to be personal, flexible and friendly .... and big enough to offer things like airport limo (at a very reasonable rate) accepts AMEX, has a nice spa ... etc

We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast spread which was sumptuous for us even though we are vegetarians....the view from our room was superb...we could see the Bosporus and the bridge...taksim square was just a five minute walk away...staff were very helpful....the combination of European luxury with Asian standards of hospitality is unbeatable.

Going anywhere or even sightseeing this location is ideal! Located in Taksim Square! Staff were very courteous & polite. One could go for walks right opposite the hotel, where a park is located. Famous Istaklal street only a 10 mins walk away.

Room Tip: Upper floors have a great view of the Bosphorous river
