“Worst experience in tashkent”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

There were six waiters and none of them understood a single word in english, they didn't even tried to make us understand the menu which was entirely in russian.
So we ordered random just pointing fingers on pictures in the menu, in front of an extremely annoyed and nevrotic waitress.
The food was so and so as the first two dishes came (a pink soup and some ravioli).
All the atmosphere was lynchian.
We were the only people eating (while we were waiting a couple entered, sat and then said sorry and went away), and there was this man dressed as a depressed ship capitan playing a guitar in a corner.
The waiter tried to put some fried rolls in my plate while i was eating a suop, he was like forcing them between the bowl and the plate.
We asked for bread (we pointed a bread picture on the menu to explain) and while waiting for that a cockroach just crossed the table.
We kindly stood up and said we wanted to go away, but we didn't have the cockroach still there to be pointed and they didn't understand in anyway, so we paid for what we have ordered (many dishes were yet to come) and it has been the most expensive dinner we have ever had in whole uzbekistan.

“Show must go on!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2010

Wonderful restaurant with Russian & Jewish cuisine tribute by decoration to Ostap Bender – one of central characters novell “12 chairs” by Ilf & Petroff . “12 chairs” is conveniently located in city’s center within a few steps away from Russian embassy. They serve authentic Jewish cuisine at very attractive prices. The exceptional fish as well as the meat dishes. The service and atmosphere was extremely welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant is enhanced by live musical performance.
