It's also Turkmenistan's ONLY amusement park. Its name is not GAP Pazarlama, but instead translates to "Turkmenbashi Fairytale World." The locals just call it Disneyland (!), and if you don't speak Turkmen, ask your cabbie to take you to Turkmenbashi Disneyland. It's a surprisingly large park with a decent number of rides, the biggest of which are a log flume and the (medium size, nonlooping) roller coaster. The overly grand front entrance of the park isn't used often, so you may get routed around the back to a rather unimpressive kiosk or a granny on a chair. Admission is incredibly cheap (less than $1USD) and includes half a dozen ride tickets. None of the rides are impressive by Western standards, but are in good shape. The ride operators are friendly but don't speak English. The clientele is mostly families with young children. While people looking for thrill rides will be disappointed, the park is a pleasant afternoon diversion from yet another white marble building, monument or golden statue of Turkmenbashi.
