We stayed at the Ceylon Continental hotel for two nights in December 2010 and I have to say that it is the worst 5 star hotel I have encountered. We were apparently in a deluxe sea view room however the condition of the room suggested otherwise. Firstly, it was on the third floor of the hotel, secondly the pillowcases were filthy and there was hair in the bed sheets. There was barely even a view of the ocean. I spoke to the manager Chanaka and requested that the room be cleaned immediately off course in sri lanka nothing in done immeditely. I also mentioned to him that the room is hardly of a deluxe standard. He promised to upgrade our rooms at 12pm the following day but this did not occur till 4.30pm the following day. The staff at the hotel were so busy that customer service was not a priority. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in it's current condition. Perhaps wait till they complete their planned renos. This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in and even the location did not win me over. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
