1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

I dont recommend this hotel at all and wonder how it could get so many good Reviews.
The rooms are dirty/dusty and two of the three cleaning ladies were neither willing and seemingly not able to clean. One of them broke the watertube in the bathroom so it was leaking but did not care to fix it. Also i did not feel safe: I have stayed there for three weeks and my room was frequently visited in my absence, which i noticed because the person left on the ac and used my lotion.
One day there was a package of condoms under the door. People were smoking in front of our room.
Food is bad and most of what is on the menu is not even availiable. One day i was served mangoes that tasted of onion because they did not clean the knife and the place where they cut it. Kitchen did not look clean. Got served dirty cups one time.
When there was a light off, the generater was not turned on when there weren't western guests.
Price is horrendous considering what you get. The homepage says: "luxury comfort and quality hygiene." This is a joke. Totally. Several cockroaches and they had no appropriate means to fight this problem. Beds are uncomfortable. Got hot water only when we requested it. Wifi often weak.
The security guards are a joke too: either sleeping or absent.
Jacaranda might host several important embassy people like claimed on the homepage but if you are not one of these they ll treat you like you did not pay.
Staff seemed to be nice in the beginning but got unfriendly and reacted harsh on requests.

All in All jacaranda has been by no means a nice, comfortable and secure place to spend but a bad bad experience.

I had the pleasure of staying at Jacaranda this past month. I cannot begin to tell you how well they took care of me, and how pleasant they made my stay. The staff was always there to assist me with anything I needed, and made me feel like I was at home! The guest house itself it very nice, and updated, and the rooms are extremely clean and taken care of. Most of the guests staying here were repeat guests who have known this treasure for years, and have been coming back every time they were posted in Islamabad for work. Most seemed to be working with UN originations and Embassies there.

I can't speak enough about this guesthouse. Everything from the staff, to the accommodation, to their food, and their services is exceptional!

Supremely comfortable – A room at a Jacaranda's boutique guest houses begins with a liberating sense of space – your guest room or suite is often among the destinations largest. Designed to inspire, its beauty connects you with the surrounding tranquil environment, while ensuring your comfort and convenience.

You'll enjoy a restful sleep because each sensory detail has been carefully refined to be just right. As have all the added touches from the comfortable bedding to lavish sittings rooms. You feel thoroughly at home, and completely at your best.

Jacaranda is located in the vibrant business and entertainment district of Islamabad, Pakistan. Operating since 1994, Jacaranda is situated across the city’s shopping areas, popularly know as Jinnah Super Market in Sector F-7, minutes away from the Diplomatic Enclave, Federal Secretariat, Parliament, Embassies, and UN Offices. A recent renovation transformed the guest house into a sleek and modern facility with all the amenities expected of a first-class boutique hotel.

Stayed here for 2 weeks while doing work with the UN in Islamabad. Security was thorough and the staff made us feel secure.
The chinese food in the restaurant was my favorite and is not to be missed. My room was clean and had internet access.
Will be going back here for sure.

We stayed at Jacaranda for nine nights this month and have to give it two thumbs up! It is a boutique style B&B in the heart of Islamabad. We felt at home and enjoyed every moment we were there. The accommodation was on the lovely side with a Mediterranean and relaxed feel to it. It has a lounge feel to it with an exceptions garden where we would have our evening tea. More importantly, it was exceptionally clean and the staff was exceptionally nice and took care of every possible need we had. We were travelling with our five year old son and they even were able to have one of their staff member to babysit whenever we went out for a late dinner. The food is good as well. There is very high security and being in Islamabad that is a great thing. We would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone who is there for work or pleasure and hope to stay again when we visit next.

  • Liked — The cleanliness and excellent customer service.
  • Disliked — Hard to get a room booking due to being so popular with the local foreign missions and ngo's in Islamabad

Jacaranda was the best place I have stayed in Islamabad thus far. I have been visiting Islamabad for the last few years and have stayed in all the 5 start hotels and some other reputable guest houses. However, I have to say that my trip to jacaranda is always to enjoyable. The staff there takes care of every personal detail from the time I reserve a room till I return to my destination. It has excellent variety of chiefs who make the excellent Chinese and Pakistani cuisine. The rooms are unmatchable to any other hotel in Islamabad. The rooms are very clean and overall the hotel is well taken care of. Both their locations are excellent and next to each other... just across the main Jinnah Super Market. However, getting a room is not easy. you have to book well in advance. They cater to most of the diplomats in Islamabad and therefore have very high security round the clock. They have their own rent a car service to if needed a car. If you were going to Islamabad I would recommend you check out their website and give them a call. I'm looking forward to returning there next summer.

  • Liked — Clean mordern rooms
  • Disliked — Very High Security - a bit scary at first. But it's a good thing in Islamabad

I was on mission in Islamabad for the last one year with an international earthquake relief foundation and stayed at Jacaranda guest house there. I have to say that in Islamabad the jacaranda group provides the best accommodation there is. The food is superb. The staff is extremely polite. The rooms are squeaky clean and the owner’s themselves makes sure that each and every guest is extremely happy with the services. Seriously, they rank higher than any 5 star hotel in Islamabad when comes to personal attention. They have very high security for their locations and it is generally hard to find a room in either of their locations which are jacaranda and jacaranda Blossoms located in F-7/3, but if you book early you might be able to get a room. I would recommend this guest house to anyone going to Islamabad. Their website is ---------- and can also be contact at ------.
