On my visit to Islamabad this year, my friends took me to a couple of cafes that have invaded the capital city's Markaz in a very short period of time. Rnaging from internationally recognized Gloria Jeans Cafe to the local tea Dhaba. Somewhere in between is this hub of the so called Pakistani intellectual youth called Chaye Khana. Located on the main F-6 Markaz, this cafe separates itself from others by the variety of speacial Tea it offers. I visited Chaye Khana on a late friday night and I wasn't surprised to see the huge waiting line. The waiter showed us the waiting area and asked to wait 5-10 mins. It definitely took more than that but the wait was worth it. There are books available for reading if you visit the place alone. Also a few tables have chess on it, if you feel like pplaying. The environment was pretty warm with dim lights and soothing music playing in the background. As compared to most cafes, the food actually tasted good but it had the same small portion/overpriced dilemma to it. We also orederd their special tea which was amazing. The waiters were very friendly and fast on the servie. All in all it was a great experince. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting islamabad.
