“Great funky hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2008

Very nice hotel, right on the Mekong River. The rooms have a real funky, modern decor. A bit out of the way up the river, but a tuk-tuk can be there in two minutes, so not a problem. The Australian owner and local staff were very helpful in arranging a driver and such. Pay it a visit!

Had a lovely three days here. We wondered what we had done when we turned into the road the hotel was in, but what a surprise. Lovely rooms and view, it would be spectacular when the river is full. Short walk to main part of town. Staff helpful and owner very informative.

Just returned from Laos today and would like to share my experience with all travellers going to Vientaine. Staff very helpful, with tips from Gordon too. Place is clean and convenient. You just have to make conversation and ask them to help with transport, itinerary, maps, they are so informative. Should I go there again, I will definitely book their rooms.

we stayed in on the 2 floor was light and clean with kitchen facilities and a good bathroom with shower , a safety deposit box was provided at reception which was staffed 24 hours .each floor of the hotel was painted in bright colours and the staff were friendly and helpful . the breakfast area /bar and restaurant overlooking the mekong and thailand was a great place to sit and chill watching the sunset plus the food was really good as well . it was about a 300metre walk along the front before you reached the main road so was quite dark at night

Fabulous - the 2nd floor superior room with the arched balcony was wonderful. Could look across the Mekong and see Thailand. The provision of a kettle, coffee and tea making was great especially since there was a small amount of crockery and cutlery (including a really sharp knife - useful for cutting fruit etc). This meant we could buy fresh baguettes from the minimarket etc and make our own lunch to eat on the balcony. The room decor was lovely , bed comfortable - what more do you need... captivating.

This small but quaint hotel is run by a fine gentleman from Australia. (Gordon) I recommend you ask for the 2nd floor front room overlooking the Mekong River. His staff is exemplary and security is above the norm. As an extensive world traveler I very highly recommend this hotel.
