This was such an amazing find. Very cheap at $28 dollars a night per room (we had a large twin, with en suite bedroom and a funny little kitchen). The room was enormous, and had great air conditioning and (amazingly for this part of the world!) a HOT SHOWER!!! Waow!!! :-)
The room and beds were absolutely spotless. Gorgeous wooden floors in our room, and a well lit and very very clean bathroom with lots of loo paper (believe me - you come to develop a toilet paper obsession in Asia). There is also a lovely little pool in the gardens of the hotel - and it is SO peaceful! Just 10-15 minutes walk into the centre of things in Vientiane, and like another reviewer said, you are right on top of a rather impressive temple just across the road - and the sound of the drums is just charming!
Breakfast was great - and only $2 a pop. You could have a plate of fruit or an egg (scrambled or fried), a large piece of french stick, and butter and jam. This came with excellent tea or coffee.
What made it for us though was the waiter that served us breakfast each day. A lovely young chap, with a HUGE love of English football, and in particular Manchester United. We bought him some MU shorts from the market, and he almost cried with gratitude. His English is slightly slow, but word perfect. An absolute gem! We have promised to send him something else to feed his football obsession - but go prepared and take him a little something.... :-D
