“decent place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

just stayed here for 1 night, clean beds in the dorm, airco and vans + free breakfast and wifi.
not much more to say about it.
if you are just looking for a night to stay somewhere then this would be a good place to go.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

I stayed here for 1 night in June 2013. I got a bed in the "Tiger" dorm for 40,000 kip including breakfast.
There are 20 beds in this dorm and it is mixed. There are lockers for each bunk and there are lights and power sockets for each bed. There is ac and fans in the rooms. The power outlet at my bed didn't work so that was a pain. I charged my phone at breakfast.
The place has a very young, backpacker and social vibe about it. Great if you want to meet people and go out.
The people who work there were nice and they have free maps (unusual for the places I stayed in Laos),
Some people were playing loud drinking games downstairs until late.
This didn't bother me, but might bother some people if they are going to bed before midnight (when they left). I felt quite sorry for the guy working the desk. He has to sleep by the door in a cot and was trying to get them out so he could go to bed, but they weren't listening to him because they were already really drunk.
If you are looking for a party this is a fantastic place to stay, if you are hoping for a quiet evening and restful sleep it might not be the place for you!
The bathrooms are downstairs from the dorms and are clean.
I would stay here again because it is excellent value for Laos.

Dorms very basic but on the up side there is air con and lockers, showers and toilets very clean and each bed has its own power socket. No private rooms. Breakfast nothing special but it's free so who is complaining. Just around the corner from the night market and many restaurants.

not impressed with this hostel at all. although fairly new and kept clean to an acceptable standard, i had a bad night's sleep there, dues to it being very noisy. I think that the walls were too thin, and so all noises of partying backpackers in the adjoining rooms were very present. Staff seems overworked and tired of seeing foreign faces. Changed to a different hostel the day after and was much happier there.

Great backpackers vibe, definitely a place to meet other like-minded travellers. Hostel crew were all equally awesome and took the initiative to interact with each guest personally. Free vodka, who could ask for more? Only down side is that they were painting the place during our stay there which was good but they probably should have a cut-off time since everyone was probably having a terrible headache when they were still painting all the way till like 9-10pm at night. BUT, there was also a huge drinking party that night so my friends were probably enjoying themselves anyway. Definitely a recommended place to bunk in!

Wonderful place to stay! The hostel is located right in the main city area so it is easy to walk everywhere. Staff are extremely helpful and interact very well with everyone who was staying there. Rooms are clean and the showers are amazing! Free Lao Lao isn't the best "vodka" but who cares, its free! I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for a night and there was a power cut-off during the night for about 3 hours or so. I tried sleeping though it was really hot coz i had to travel early the next morning. Someone decided to open the window and the mosquitoes feasted on me!

The staff were good anyway but they have to buy generator.

The place is near to the park where you can see the sunset and buy food and souvenir items.
