“I was amazed by the faces of some of the Buddhas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

I was amazed by the faces of some of the Buddhas (sharp, pointy noses), and just loved wandering around. We did not take a guide, so probably missed out on a lot of information

“Has a big gold Buddha inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Built in 1818, but not that impressive given its state of non-restoration. Has a big gold Buddha inside with 5 standing in front as the highlight. All around are little domes carved onto the wall with 1-2 Buddha figures in each.

“Another day, another temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

The best thing was that it was lovely and tranquil and you could take you time wondering around. Huge contrast to such sightseeing in Bangkok

“2000 Buddhas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

Beautiful but very old murals, a 5 meter long snake (naga) like water trough, about 2000 little Buddhas in small niches. This temple was built by Chao Anou, who in 1826 led a rebellion against the Siamese causing Vientiane to be pillaged. Only Wat Si Saket remained untouched maybe because it resembles a Thai temple.

“Interesting Wat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Small temple, worth an hour of so of your time. The temple needs refurbishing, but an interesting look.
