The paintings in the temple - though of the 19th century- are in a poor condition. The surrounding
Buddha figures (all with the same hand position) are interesting but not more.

“Beautiful gardens and a lovely temple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

This temple is set in beautiful gardens. The temple itself has lots of buddha statues and is quite ornamental. Its the oldest temple in Vientiane so is definately one of the many wats that is worth a visit.

“A beautiful temple complex”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

This was the first temple we visited in Vientiane, and it was by far the one I enjoyed the most. The temple complex is surrounded by deep cloisters which house thousands of buddhas, both large and small. The temple itself, is beautiful, and well worth spending time walking around to see the sculpted doors and windows.

“Worth a look”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

While not particularly remarkable, if you are going to see Ho Phra Keo anyways it is worth a look. Also, it happens to be the oldest temple still standing in Vientiane. You can probably cover it in 20-30 minutes.
