“Professional!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

I guess I-beam was "lucky" getting a head start on Tripadvisor getting 4 (!) one reviewers from Montreal. However the place is great.

Location good even if outdoor seating is a bit to close to a busy road. The bar is decorated with a nice touch and the level of light and sound is perfect! Service was close to perfect and staff are obviously well trained...but no smiles. Tapas looks very good (I only tried a few). Drinks and menu are on the expensive side but still feels quite value for money. Our table had a sneak peak into the kitchen and it looked very clean and tidy.

Toilet was very clean and had fancy towels. A place with quality all the way to the back regions.

Perfect for friends get togethers and a good start/end of the evening. As the name say...it's a bar and I would not go here for dinner. Before or after dinner = perfect.

“Refreshing after visiting temples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2012

Excellent tapas, atmosphere and Lao beer (pity not on tap though).
A little oasis in the middle of Vientiane.
Visited here with friends living in Vientiane. Friendly, efficient place highly recommended

“very personal and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

We really had a great dinner at I-beam. We ordered the tasting menu. The owner explains everything that's presented to you and will even allow you to pick something specific if you ask. The whole experience was very nice and they had a nice selection of wines.

“A nice addition to the Vientiane dining scene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2011

For those of you who like tapas with a local flavor there is the "Spirit House". But if you look for something more "western" with a gastronomical touch the "I-Beam" is the place to go.

Run by the team who brought you the famous "Silapa" the I-Beam offers a nice selection of cold and hot tapas accompanied by a good selection of wines.

The tapas we had that night (5) were all excellent. Service was also very good. Only "negative" point: maybe a bit overpriced.
