The hotel feels a bit old and dark, and communication with the front desk can be a little confusing. We had been booked in with supposedly interconnected "deluxe view" rooms, only to find that there were no such things as interconnected rooms in the hotel and the best they could do was give us rooms which were opposite one another. One of these was a "deluxe" room, i.e. cheaper due to the lack of view, so we ended up having prepaid too much for something that didn't exist! The rooms are big however, and the rooftop restaurant is a nice place to sit and have breakfast or a beer, although the breakfast itself is not anything to write home about! And as others have said - the hotel does feel a bit out of the way as it is a bit of a hike into the town, along a road which is in a fairly major construction phase. It is a dusty road (or, after the water trucks have been by to dampen things down, it is a muddy road)! Other things to know are - no swimming pool, but at USD2 a head the hotel next door will let you use theirs which, when it is hot and dusty and you've reached the end of a long biking holiday, is a godsend. Also, The Spirit House restaurant is just a short stroll away. Great food and cocktails, and good service there.
