This one isn't easy to find! I was heading the wrong way up a one way street against a tide of scooters in the midst of the market but found Khouadin. I was expecting a restaurant but this is more of a very basic eatery which I suspect is mainly to offer cheap food to the market stall owners. I got there about 1pm and the place was deserted. There were many vegetarian dishes but they were all only luke warm and there was an abundance of flies which put me off massively. I was going to walk away but was so chuffed to actually find the place that I took a little of everything. The food is really delicious and hugely cheap for 25,000 kip although visitors are encouraged to only take what they need. Think about leaving a tip/little extra to help these people out. I wondered if I would get sick but had no ill effects and would go there again. I would have preferred the food to be piping hot, but otherwise, this is a gem.
To find, turn left out of the bus station and head down the street until you find a shop selling woven baskets. Turn right here into the laneway that is pretty narrow and hectic. About half way down on the left there is a big banner outside the restaurant with "vegetarian" written on it. If you find a big scooter shop, you've gone one step too far :-)
