After a bad hotel experience in Tashkent, the Team leader of our project has instructed the staff booking our hotels to take a look at reviews in Trip Advisor to ensure that we do not encounter surprises. We are usually a team of 6-8 people travelling together and it can be very difficult to meet everyone's wishes. There are, of course, certain criteria which must be taken into consideration in the final choice of the hotel e.g. price, location, amenities etc.
This hotel has a good standing in Trip Advisor's reviews of hotels in Astana and we were not disappointed. The hotel staff are in general very helpful, courteous and prompt in responding to any call for assistance. There is a good business center with computers, printers etc. The hotel is well maintained, there is a fitness center and a small pool, lobby bar and a good restaurant. The breakfast is adequate and varied catering to all tastes. Late check-out can be arranged without paying extra. An ironing board is available on request. The reception staff, who all speak English, are quite helpful in booking taxis, recommending restaurants. Internet connection is free and good and is available in the rooms and all over the hotel. The location is good with supermarkets and some good restaurants and cafes nearby. It costs 500 to 700 tenges for a taxi to any part within the city and 2500 tenges to the airport. The only reason why I did not give this hotel the highest rating is the size of the rooms. Standard rooms are quite small and since I was travelling with my husband I booked a standard de luxe room, which was around 150 euros pr night and the bed is probably only 120 cm wide - otherwise, a satisfactory hotel experience.
