Modern large impersonal apparthotel complex in very good location close to sightseeing in central PP. Don't expect a proper full service hotel. Korean owned, with minimal bar / restaurant facilities and a somewhat unfurnished feel , not much service and unmaintained external areas , it did not suit us. Pool OK, but area around a bit scruffy.

Appartments are large, basic, functional and modern (avoid the ones overlooking the main road which are noisy) but they are clean and the bed and linens were OK. Dull lighting at night made them seem more dismal than they actually were, and we did actually sleep quite well! Would probably suit a family in need of space or an extended stay.

Not sure there is much choice for luxury in PP, but this is not it .We thought other places looked more suited to the western market, but it does just about suffice for a short stay to see the sights.

We spent in total three nights at Himawari. We choose this hotel because we wanted to do some sightseeing, as well play tennis, relaxing and do some excercise at the gym. The tennis court is 80% booked by external guets. Therefore you don't have a chance to reserve the court, if you are not able to play in the sun (35°)!!! The pool was o.k. but eveywhere are some kind of rubbish and there isn't a order. On Christmas Day they closed the pool area for a private party. All hotel guets had to leave the pool area. There was not another possibiliy to hang around. They have a gym, called gym one. The maschines are at least 20 years old. The rooms are o.k and sizable, but the furnitures are old and ugly. The rooms incl. bathroom are clean. The food is nothing special. If you are very hungry you get something to eat. Unfortunatley, they don't know the word "al dente"! The service are very, very poor. And the prices are too expensive. If you already booked a room, please make sure, that you don't spend to many hours at this horrible hotel. If you have the change to cancel it, please do it. I don't recommend this hotel at all. Spend your money for better things. To sleep in a tent is probably much better!

“Very nice hotel”

Stayed at the Himawari Hotel for 6 nights whilst visiting Cambodia and before moving on to another part of Cambodia. The Himawari was excellent in terms of cleanliness and the room was like a small flat which included a almost full size kitchen, fridge freezer, huge dressing area with 2 double wardrobes, safe and lovely bathroom. The bed was a quadrouple - fantastic. The service was excellent and staff very friendly especially the resturant and bar staff who were constantly available to order drinks through, whether by the pool, on the terrace or in the resturant itself. Bearing in mind this hotel was a base for travelling to see the various historical sites it was very comforting to not be plagued by tuk tuk drivers and was nice to relax after an exhausting day!!

We had a lovely stay at the Himawari apartments.

The hotel was centrally located to major attractions like the Royal Palace and restaurants etc.

The pool and gym were very good. Staff were helpful. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. One night we ordered room service which was very good and efficient.

Our room was spacious and the bathrooms were huge, we had 3 televisions in our appartment. So our son was able to watch cartoons in his own bedroom. The separate dining room lounge was a great bonus which made us feel more at home.

The only problem we had was trying to work the washing machine.

We had a wonderful stay at the Himawari Appartments.

We had orignially booked 3 nights at the Bougainviller Hotel, however after a sleepless night we decided to find alternative accomodation. We came across the Himarwari and spent the rest of our trip in a modern, clean, quiet and convenient apartment. For approx $30 extra a night we had a lovely a pool to swim in, a great buffet breakfast included and a really helpful and efficient hotel to stay in.
It's a great place!
