“Highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Strangely peaceful and quiet. Not as harrowing as I was expecting. Very well organised with the audio tour. Really helped to understand the history and was nice to sit by the water and reflect. Definitely the best thing we did in Phnom Penh. Pay no more than $10 for a tuk tuk to get there, they will ask $15-20.

I'm very impressed by history of the killing fields. It's sad... With the Superb audio guide, you will know the history of killing fields even deeper. It's a must go places for who wish to visit Phnom Penh.

“Must See in Cambodia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

Everyone might "know" the story but it is important, even though it it hard on the heart, to see and bear witness to the horror that was committed here in the 1970s. We must really understand what happened here and remember so we never forget and never let this happen in the world again. This is the only way that we can truly honor the dead.

“Sensitively done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

I was really impressed by the Choeung Ek memorial. The key was the superb audio guide - a must for all visitors. It provides some context to the history of the Khmer Rouge years and takes you through he grounds. Listening to the survivor stories in the quiet of the grounds gives you time to reflect. A sensitively organized memorial and a must see.
