Picked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed! I arrived well ahead of normal check in (8am) and an early checkin wasn't a problem! Girls at reception were so lovely, always smiling, jumping to help you with anything. I was in room 5, on first floor, second room from the main road end, so yes, it was noisy! In addition to the road noise there was construction noise as well. I am a very light sleeper but with ear plugs I slept fine, so you might want to pack some too! As for the room itself, it was VERY clean. Room might be on the small side but plenty of bench space for 2 peoples luggage and more. Nice flat screen tv. AC worked like a charm. Fast wifi connection throughout the hotel. Big bed, super comfy and clean linen, bed was definitely on the hard side, but this is Asia! After reading reviews I had prepared myself for a small bathroom but I was still pretty amused when I saw the size of it! The whole space is about 1.5mx1.5m, shower pretty much over the toilet, but everything is very clean...nice hot shower with great water pressure makes up for the tiny bathroom.
Downstairs bar/reception area is very comfy. Yes there are older expat men drinking there from mid afternoon but they are completely harmless and not in anyones way. I am a solo female traveller and I felt more than comfortable hanging out there having a beer and watching Cambodian life go by. The owner was very friendly, offering plenty of advice on my travels around Cambodia, even spent half an hour on a rainy afternoon showing me his own travel photos. Breakfast was pretty simple but enough to get you started for the day. Location is great. Right on the riverfront. Close to all the attractions. Plenty of tuk tuk and moto drivers hanging out the front. I would definitely stay here again!
