We arrived and were impressed with our first sights of the hotel. The pool is very large cnnsidering there are only 15 rooms here, and the bar/restaurant/reception area is very inviting. We had a room on the second floor which was spacious and nicely decorated, the bathroom was nothing special but was perfectly functional. The room was actually a little bit dirty, we were able to write dust on the top of the tv and on the mirror frame, but let reception know and this was soon remedied. On arrival we were informed that construction was taking place and that ths started at 9am, if only, we were woken at 7am by drilling, banging etc! Which was no problem on our first morning as we wanted to be up early but the second morning we could have done without it. We also had a problem in our room on the third day, as they were scraping and banging the outside wall, not peaceful, once again reception came to the rescue and we eventually spoke to the Manager who was most apologetic and as a goodwill gesture knocked 10% off the room rate for the inconvenience. The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing, they really cannot do enough to help you, and are an asset to the hotel.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, fabulous pool. Pretty poor service in the restaurant but the food was good and breakfast served all day. Use of the internet while lounging at the pool was great for me. Beautiful gardens around the pool helped maintain the feeling of being separate from the noise and chaos of the city outside.

Rooms overpriced for what you get - we stayed in 2 rooms after expedia didn't book our room (not the hotels fault). Most expensive room (around $35) large with balcony, standard room very small. Both rooms bathrooms could do with a upgrade. Cafe very expensive. Pool welcome respite and the staff very helpful. Look out for Pat the tuk tuk driver who was brilliant taking us round Phnom Penh. Never rips you off and always askes what you "want to pay"!! He hangs around the hotel most days. Free internet and breakfast - which wasn't for the hungry.....

We stayed 2 nights during our brief stop in Phnom Penh.

Cleanliness- I didnt really like that they used dark linens, as you can never tell if its covering up mysterious stains. The floors felt very squeaky clean and I didn't feel compelled to wear sandals inside the room, which I do normally. The bathroom was standard and comparable one located in a more buddget hotel, so that wasn't too impressive. The cleaning crew did come every day and we were given fresh towels everyday. The pool and lounging areas looked well maintained but it was raining while we were there so I didnt' use it much.

Service- Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful when asked for any questions, but a bit reserved (preferred over the opposite). Complimentary breakfast was standard fare but my poached eggs came boiled, but I won't complain :)

Location- Fortunately (depends how you feel) tuk tuks are located RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FRONT GATE and will seize upon any chance to ask you if you need a lift , so location wise, you are about $1-$2 from anywhere in the city. However, there is a great baguette stand around the corner and your standard assortment of local vendors about 5 minutes walking.

Value- We paid $30/night, which is about right given that there is a nice pool and this is considered a "boutique" hotel.

Not bother to make reservations- they give them away and leave you stranded

We had reserved online via their website almost two weeks in advance for a one night stay. We had their manager email us back twice making us respond that we were definite in our stay. We emailed her back twice confirming our stay and she emailed that our room would be reserved for us.
Excited about having a room already- it was to be our last day in Cambodia before 22hour flight home, we went to the Billabong to check in and the two girls at the front desk said we had no reservations!! We had to go online and show them our reservationa and email correspondence. They said, "Oh yes, you emailed our manager. But sorry we don't have any rooms. We're full"
So basically if you make a reservation, email the manager directly, the Billabong will still give your room away!! I will never use them again.
They recommended a hotel nearby called The Big Luck Hotel- we went there, exhausted and aggravated, and realized that we were in the elevator with prostitutes going up to their customers adjacent to a room being shown to us. Two men in just towels came out, let the girls in, and we left the hotel.
We have traveled all over Asia and have had very good luck, great service in all our hotels but the Billabong!! Do not stay at a place that will give your reservation away and then recommend you to a hotel that has prostitutes.
