Dear St Kilda Low Life,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our hotel. We are sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations.

We have not had any complaints from customers or staff about smoking of restricted substances.
We simply do not allow it.

Comparing The Bilabong to a backpackers hostel we feel is quite unfair and unjustified.

Our restaurant has a range of food including asian and western dishes. The most expensive item we have on the menu is the Bacon Chicken Cheese Burger with fries at $5.75. Which is great value for money in any town, let alone sitting by a pool. We can not compete with street stalls, price wise.

We would like to remind all our customers that 'night guests' are not allowed in the rooms. If customers are unsure about this policy please contact us before making an online payment through an agency.

I stayed for four nights at the Billabong.
There is a bar/restaurant set beside an attractive salt water pool. Complimentary breakfast is served here and meals are available all day at modest prices.

My room was large, with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is central, in a side street off the main road an easy walk to the Central Market and a short tuktuk ride to the Royal Palace and the riverside area

Nice location close to everything, small and private hotel with great food, great drinks, great prices, lovely relaxing pool, bar and dining area.
The room was very clean and very nice staff who helped make our stay in Phnom Pehn an excellent hassle free time. Cant wait to go back.

We first visited Billabong back in 2006. Since then we have been regulary guests during our visits to Phnom Penh. We like the location, the pool, restaurant, rooms and the very nice and hospital staff at Billabong.

Stayed here because the hotel of our choice, The Pavilion which we had stayed at previously, was fully booked. Nothing essentially wrong with the hotel other than the price which is very high by Phnom Pehn standards. We booked a Supreme Double room and were disappointed that it was just a basic, very dated hotel room which looked like it hadn't been refurbished since the 70's, without even a bath.. Pool and pool area the best things about this hotel.

Stayed here for only two nights (phew) and were greeted by wonderful staff. They arranged reasonable tuk-tuks for us, coach tickets and the breakfast was delivered well and efficiently. The bad point is the room - it's small, uncomfortable and the decor is tired. I didn't have a good sleep for two days!

The Billabong Hotel is a very good hotel. Location is great, rooms are clean. The Deluxe rooms are spacious, with their own terrace.
The food is ok, the staff at the reception not that friendly but some speak a very good English.

The main issue is that there is a building being built RIGHT NEXT DOOR, so actually some rooms have builders literally just on the other side of the wall.

So from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday included, the whole vicinity is noisy (even the pool), and some rooms (including mine) are VERY NOISY.

Don't expect to be able to relax.

So the place is a very good place if you wake up early and get back late from visiting, but don't expect it to be relaxing.

Room Tip: Rooms 17 to 25 are just near the pool, with the breakfast served just outside. Room 31 is definitiv...
