“Nice lobby, good service, average room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Lobby is nice, welcome drink provided, staff friendly and helpful. Pool is small but nice to sit by and has WiFi. Room was small (even after an 'upgrade') and bathroom even smaller (tiny!) but had an actual shower recess with glass screen which is rare for cheap hotels around PP. Rain shower was great. No cupboard or draws to put clothes etc in, just a small table in the corner. Safe provided and building felt secure. Air con was very dodgy and merely sputtered cool air which was my biggest frustration. No gym (I think one is being built). Location is a bit out of the central bustle but only about a $3 tuk tuk ride to central market etc - don't pay more :). Room service was quick.

Room Tip: I have heard room 316 is terrible.

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst on business in PP. I had a room upgrade which was nice and overall the stay was better than pleasant. Breakfast was great and so was the food in the restaurant. the pool was surprisingly bigger than other reviews have suggested as i was expecting something the size of a paddling pool!

The only thing that i felt let the hotel down was the lack of tea. I may have just been unlucky but each time i ate in the restaurant i had to repeatedly ask for the tea menu as it was never given out with the other menus and i had no kettle or tea making equipment in my room which i found slightly odd but in all fairness i kept forgetting to tell reception so i can only blame myself really.

Overall a really great stay.

Room Tip: avoid the rooms that have no external windows. i think you will be dissappointed if you get allocate...

Dear Guest, very sorry about that. We are currently indeed putting a little more tea in the TeaHouse... Cheers, Alexis

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is quite new, it has a small swimming pool in a restaurant area, not really adequate for swimming but great for cooling off after wandering the hot and sticky streets of Phnom Penh. The span and gym were not open yet when we were there.

The hotel is located in more of a residential neighbourhood of the city which makes it a quiet and peaceful place. Tuk tuk from the bus station cost us $3 and $2 for the return journey. Note the location is not that great if you want to be in or close to the backpackers' district. About 20 min walk to the restaurants and bars hub. But you can always get a tuk tuk for about $2 to bring you there (recommended especially at night time).

Upon arrival we received a welcome drink and got upgraded to a bigger room which was a nice touch. The room was very spacious and clean. It had all mod cons, telly with satellite channels and a comfortable bed.

Breakfast, included in the price, was buffet style with freshly prepared any-style eggs, baguettes or toast, cereal etc. The quality of the food was average.
Re food, we ordered a beef burger one night (room service) and it was delivered totally raw so be careful when eating there.

We stayed 3 nights. Chose this hotel because it had a pool and others reviews. Location was good. Great value for money. Massage was awesome. Welcome drink, great room 408. BF was really good. The staff were great, nothing to much trouble, we asked for a fan no problem. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had 408, overlooked the street but was quiet as it is high up. Not much of a view.

We really enjoyed our stay at the TeaHouse - a peaceful oasis in the bustle of the city. The staff could not have been any more helpful and the hotel tuk tuks were right at the door. The pool is small but very pleasant. The sunset Butterfly cruise organised by the hotel was excellent with 3 of us enjoying a chilled glass of wine on the Mekong - excellent guide.

I am baffled by some of the negative reviews, as we were thrilled with our experience from start to finish with this lovely hotel. Some travelers seem to forget some conditions I.E. water pressure and haggling Tuk Tuk drivers are the nature of the city, and not the hotel. The staff was tremendously helpful- from their assistance with getting a motorbike and a Vietnamese visa, to assisting us with general questions. We witnessed a number of difficult guests that the staff handled with smile and ease. Our room (302) was great, had big windows and a hot shower. Free daily water is always a plus. The housekeeping staff was thorough and lovely. The computers in the lobby are tremendously helpful. And finally- the breakfast was the best we have had during our 2 months in SE Asia. Very pleased with our experience here and would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone heading to PP.

The Teahouse was excellent from start to finish. Upon arriving we were greeted by staff who took our luggage and gave us a welcome drink. The hotel and pool looked lovely and staff were obviously doing a fantastic job at keeping the place clean. Whilst we were there there was an extremely obnoxious and difficult customer staying at the hotel and we observed the staff on many occasions dealing with this customer in a professional and friendly manner despite the customer being rude enough to test the patience of a saint! Staff should certainly be commended here as they really made our stay. The buffet breakfast was amazing, there was a wide choice available and it was very tasty. We only ate one evening meal at the hotel as there were cheaper options available elsewhere and it was quite a quiet atmosphere, however the food was tasty. The location was ok, only ten to fifteen minutes from the palace. It was a bit disappointing the gym in the hotel was advertised but not open yet. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel.
