“Class act, great staff, some wonderful rooms.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

Class act, great staff, wonderful rooms.
Rooms clean, quiet and comfortable, very friendly and very competent staff with good language skills. Wonderful, comfortable bed, nice bathrobe, tea cooker avail too.
Pool warm enough, and has jets too, nice plants around it.
Good restaurants nearby, esp Vietnamese.
Nice boutique feel, liked the aromatherapys-style burners in the halls.
Rooms had good lighting excellent elec outlets for computers, etc.
Will go back there for sure.

The owner of this place knows all the best places to eat in town. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great too. The breakfast is excellent.

It's also a short(ish) walk to the river but there are tuk-tuks usually hanging around outside if you need to go further afield.

We really enjoyed our stay.

This was a very nice small hotel, the room was really comfortable and had some nice, thoughtful design details. The service and food were excellent. I don't normally like to eat at hotel restaurants when traveling but after first trying to food it was difficult not to!

Very nice and convenient place to stay, the staff were friendly and the food is good too. the owner is very accommodating. Near restaurants where you can buy quality food for a cheaper price.
English channels available, good wifi connection, fan and aircon in the room, hot shower, nice pool too..
I just want to recommend that they should have fridge in the room.

What a wonderful surprise The Sangkum Hotel is. A gorgeous boutique-style hotel with very friendly staff who gave us lots of great information about Phnom Penh. We dined a couple of times in their restaurant and the food is very good. Breakfast is part of the price and is also extremely tasty. Perhaps the best thing about it is the romantic swimming pool, beautifully designed with lovely lighting - it was a real relief to relax there in the afternoons and evenings. Our room was spacious and cool with a balcony, and the bed was extremely comfortable. There is a feeling of being in someone's own home but with the professionalism and care you would expect from a top class hotel.

The food is incredibly good ( give a try to the 'boeuf bourguignon'... better than the one my grand mother used to cook)! The manager is very nice, full of advices and available for his clients.
One special mention about the pool: Nice design, relaxing, perfect temperature (half under the sun/half in the shadows..so you don't have to suffer Phnom Penh hot climate)!
Interior design of the hotel is lovely !

The Sangkum is a boutique hotel conveniently located in a residential area which used to be the old french colonial heart of Phnom Penh during the protectorate. A quiet area close to Wat Phnom, the French embassy and Calmette hospital. Main touristic attractions are within 5 minutes drive by tuk tuk. The villa is inspired from the Sangkum era. We have 12 spacious and comfortable rooms, with a luxurious garden and a swimming pool perfectly spotted to cool down after a tough working day or a sightseeingtrip in the heat of Phnom Penh. Out of sight from the street, the garden and the swimming pool offer you a private and calm area. The restaurant is entirely outdoor and is directly linked with the garden, the patio and its bar, creating a large and cool open space.
