“Typical Intercontinental. Good Business Hotel with No surprises”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2009

Stayed one night on the Club Floor for $149/night ++. Room was small but well appointed with great city view. Staff in the Club Lounge very sweet. Pool area and gym were adequate but not spectacular. Nasi Goreng and Noodle Soup for lunch in the casual restaurant off the lobby were quite good. Neighborhood very busy with lots of traffic. Not great for walking but fine for getting to sightsee or for business meetings. The Guest Relations Dept did an excellent job of finding a wedding band and cross that I left behind for which I am very grateful.

Reliable at every sense for business.
Not very expensive as well.
They say the PM of the country uses only this hotel for various conferences.

The Intercontinenta is Phnom Penh's only 5-star hotel, but it stacks up well by the standards of 5-star hotels in other cities. Oftentimes, a hotel abroad boasts a star-count that, in reality, it does not merit. Not so, here. Sure, it isn't in the smack middle of the city, but you really don't want to be right in the thick of things in Phnom Penh. The city is small, and a hotel just a bit off the main center is a good idea.

The service was phenomenal. My husband's birthday was during out stay, and the staff somehow figured this out by looking at our passports at check-in and sent up a magificent full-sized French-style layered tort, along with a cake cutter, two plates, candles and matches--we were so surprised.

I highly recommend this hotel.

we had a great stay...most reviews i see people complained a little here and there....not sure why coz we had just a great time...main point of travel is no one should bother you...and in this hotel people left us alone ,the concierge only came to us once to see if we needed anything at all...thats all...so we had a great time when at the hotel.

the cleaning lady always wished cheerfully in the morning ....a nice start to a morning...of course left her a very good tip coz my room was always cleaned and great...

nice time...great hotel.....last day of stay i saw some heavy duty important ministers or diplomats around as you can see the special police royal gaurds....but it was alright....felt very safe and secured...

you need your room card to access the luxurious elevators...and ALL guests are called in before allowed to your room. btw phone in the bathroom also....lol...

oh...excellent breakfast spread in the morning...the range was so wide there is no way you can taste everything....i think its one of the best laid out breakfasts i have ever seen...please done miss the breakfast.

very nice job....

I and my wife stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visit Phnom Penh, and we enjoyed our stay a lot.
The hotel is huge, by far the biggest in town, and I rate this a 4.5 stars hotel. We stayed at a club level room, as we wanted to pamper ourselves a bit: that was definitely a great idea!
First of all, the club level was basically empty! There were never more than 5 people at the Club lounge, which makes sure you receive a top-notch, personalized service.
Furthermore, you have a wonderful view from the club lounge's 15th floor. And last (but not least), the services you get at the club are worth every penny: great breakfast with top notch food (try the made-to-order breakfast steak!!), very nice afternoon tea with sandwiches and pastries à-buffet, and great cocktil hour's food dishes, (even though the wines are so-so they have many spirits to chose from).

The room was very nicely appointed, a little bit old but spotless. The bathroom was big and spacious, and the air-conditioning system worked perfectly (don't underestimate this point! In Cambodia you never know!). Also, we stayed at the hotel during a special promotion time (that ends at the end of September 2009) where we had free unlimited use of the room's minibar! VERY nice! :)

The hotel's lobby is nice and big. Again, there weren't many people, fact hat made the place looking a little spooky. There is also a very nice spa on the first floor, where a very nice chinese restaurant is located.

Pool and gym are located on the third floor. The pool is nicely landscaped (with wet bar) and big, you can easily swim there. Plenty of sunbeds. The gym is nice, supposedly one of the best in town, but nothing too nice. Changing rooms were fine, but due to power shortages the use of the sauna was restricted to 3 hours a day (morning, lunch time, dinner time approximately). This is something disappointing, taht you would not expect from a 5* hotel, but e are in Cambodia after all...

Last consideration: the staff at the Club lounge deserves kudos. They were very friendly and eager to help (they arranged our bus tickets to Sihanoukville, saving us from a trip to a travel agent, for a 50 cents commission).

All in all, this hotel deliveres most of what it promises, and hence it is a solid choice if you are visiting Phnom Penh. Mind the fact that the main attractions are a 20 minutes tuk-tuk ride from the hotel, so if you wanna be centrally located skip this place. But if you seek luxury and a relaxing place out of bustling Phnom Penh, this is the perfect place! Next time I will be in town I may try the Raffles, but this hotel will surely be top of my list.

This hotel is only appearance. The swimming Pool is so small, the service of airport pick up not on time, the room small for the price and they don't clear the room and the bathroom every day even you stay 3 days.
The beakfast was ok and the waiters smily but the service not professionnal.
