“Ironic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

From my observation, lots of Cambodians do not care for the Vietnamese people. This is ironic because at least VN saved them from Pol Pot. Oh well. Don' go out of your way for this one. Nothing exciting to do or see.

“OK - relaxing area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

A simple monument well looked after. I used this monument and the large square around it as the southernmost point of a walking tour and from that point of view it was useful as it provided a quite place to relax before my walk back to my hotel, this was late afternoon.
It is significant of course because for the history of aggression between these two nations.

“Statue of friendship”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

I do like this square, especially at night it is so lively, people dancing, exercising, there are nice lights on inside of the fountain. The statue is a typical "communist" looking one, unless you are visiting the square it's not worth it, the square is...in the evening :)

“nice park”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

it's in a nice park and if you time it right (around 10.30am) you'll see a sea of saffron as the monks come back from the university.

The monument itself is a bit of a strange one. more militaristic than I'd like but then afaik it does commemorate when Vietnamese invaded and chased the Khmer Rouge out of Phnom Penh and up into the hills
