“Wonderful hotel, would definitely stay here again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Very comfortable and clean place. Highlights:
- the best mattresses ever and lux bedding!
- salt water pool (does not burn your eyes like chlorinated pools do)
- warm, friendly, helpful staff
- whole place smells like a spa, including your room
- nice quite location, $3 tuk-tuk ride from the action

They don't have an elevator and their breakfast is on the fourth floor, in case that is a consideration for you. Breakfast was not stellar, but decent.

Lowlight: we left in a hurry as our pick up arrived 15 minutes early, so in that panic I didn't leave enough of a tip for the staff and I only left what I did for one person, when i should've dropped a bunch more in the staff tip box... Which I didn't even notice was there until later after I was already on my way out of the city. I 've been feeling so bad about that the whole time since :(

We stayed 2 nights in this gorgeous little boutique hotel situated within a quiet neighborhood in Phnom Phen just 2 minutes away by tuk tuk to the lively markets and street cafes. With the low rates that were offered trust that you get more than you pay for. Not only are the rooms spotlessly clean, but the decor is lovely with color schemes for each room that carries through into the bathrooms. Beds were comfy with crispy white linens and there is always a refreshing smell of lemongrass oil burning in the passages and bathrooms.
From the moment we entered its gate we got a good vibe about this place. The manager and staff were fantastic and really made us feel welcomed with their warm smiles and attention. They were also helpful in giving advice on where to shop and which sites to visit. Breakfast is served at the rooftop restaurant with great views of the city. Food is fresh, coffee is good and enough to kick start your day.
We were a family and took 3 seperate rooms and i speak for them all when i say that Monument Hotel is a chic place to stay...but book ahead as its quite popular and fills fast!
They have some sister hotels too which i dont know much about but its all to do with the management so Im sure the quality is consistent.

I read the reviews and booked the hotel. It was everything we expected and more. I like my accommodation to be clean and quite; and this hotel was great. After a day of walking around town and visiting places, it was great to fall into that comfortable bed.

The breakfast is good, the service is friendly and the location is great - not to close to the noise and not to far for walking.

Would definitely stay again.

swimmingpool is a treat after a hot sightseeing day. Comfortable and clean rooms as well as super helpful stuff.
Good location and not far from restaurants and other sights. Definately recommended in Phnom Penh.

It was our first international trip and we go back today in a few hours. Our tours were booked by the hotel manager Ollie, too bad it is rainy season so we could not do tak mao zoo as it poured that day. When we arrived we asked the hotel to arrange a sim for us (we had read all about cambodia and how cheap it was to get a sim without any contracts, boo sprint). The hotel arranged for a sim card with very fast internet so we were connected all the time (and still are just before we fly out :) Internet on phone is very affordable here. We stayed for one week, hotel was clean, quiet, very comfortable rooms, no elevator. The restaurant upstairs gave a spartan look and the hallways looked a bit cold but the rooms were very elegant and the pictures on their website really is what the place looks like. We took some ourselves too. It is a friendly place on a quiet street, not sure if we would come back to Phnom Penh again but we would recommend to other travelers. There is a fitness center about 75 yards from the hotel on the same street where you pay $1.50 per session. A steal

We chose to stay here as the reviews looked good.
Firstly, it isn't as central as we expected.
The pool was quite small.
We were looking at a roof from our bedroom window.
The breakfast is a complete joke. The coffee was cold so they microwaved it!!!
It took 15 min for the bar guy to open the fridge and bring me a diet coke!!
Never again!! Too annoying

Hi Segadimo,
Thank you for providing your valuable feedback. We take out guest reviews very seriously and are looking into the breakfast review. We have a continuous process where we train our staff regularly on ensuring the breakfast is perfectly served and guests are happy. We will look into why there was a problem with coffee and as for the breakfast we would really appreciate your feedback on what you would like added in the breakfast menu.
We are located in the BKK1 less than 3 minutes walk from the independence monument in a central part of town however for visitors to wish to be on the river side we are about 10 minutes away.
The hotel is in a renovated old UN building and not all rooms have a pool view but for guests who want a pool view we recommend they check in in our deluxe rooms. We hope that you will give us one more chance to serve you and if you do choose to stay with us, please select the deluxe rooms.
Thanks again.
