“Food sent from above. The place lives up to it's name!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

I'd like to personally thank both the owners as well as the staff at the lost room. Our visit wasn't short of spectacular.
Lost room, is literally a lost room. We thought that we were never going to find this place but luckily we had an awesome Tuk Tuk Driver! Some people may hate exploring but i think it's all part of the adventure.

Upon arriving Lost Room, Our first impressions of this restaurant was relaxing/calming as well as classy. I think the layout of the place is creative. The quiet bar at the front for a beer or two, then as you walk further you reach the restaurant.

Within this time you will get greeted by the owner himself and makes sure you're well equiped with a lovely table setting as well as the BEST!!!! Warm rolls and "Garlic Paste(Not sure what's called)

Will it be just a couples dinner or with friends, i believe this restaurant needs to be conquer whilst your stay Phnom Penh.

I've never had such a unique blend of food, ones i personally would never think of putting together and YET... It taste magnificent.

Entrees, Mains, Cocktails, Deserts. Can not find a fault in any other each.

Anthony S,
Wow , what a review and thank you very much for such a detailed description of what the lost room is all about .
It is so rewarding for us and the staff to hear that we are continuing to please our customers with our dedication to our standards and true natural warm hospitality .
The garlic paste served with our warm bread is a Confit style garlic paste .
Once again thanks and wish you happy travels !!

“Overrated, i'm afraid...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

I really wanted to like this place...i love the concept of sharing portions, i appreciate a diverse, good-value wine list and i really liked the atmosphere of the place, cosy and different...so what's not to like? Well, unfortunately, it was the food that fell flat, and that's still the main reason to visit a restaurant.
We ordered two appetizers and two mains...all beautifully presented and creative, however :
-the rocket falafels were unexceptional, a bit dry and bland
-the crab balls were admittedly delicious and the best dish we ordered
-the seabass with goat cheese was nice enough but not outstanding
-the biggest disappointment was the lamb filet, a beautiful meat, sadly overcooked and served more than 'well-done', a sacrilege really

In the end the whole experience wasn't bad, it's a nice restaurant with mostly decent to good food, but expectations were too high

Andremohr,
Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. I am sorry that some of the dishes you mentioned were not up to our usually high standard .
Unfortunately for you (and us which reflects in the review) the lamb was sent out overcooked and should never have been sent out. As stated, with such a fine cut of meat it is a sacrilege !!!
I believe the night you visited I was absent from the Lost room and yours was not the only one sent out not cooked to perfection as my wife noticed the fact and immediately rectified the error with the Chef. For this I apologise and i can assure you this is no longer the case with the Lamb Dish. The other issue with falafels has also been rectified as we immediately identified the batch was incorrectly prepared by our staff .
we really appreciate your comments both good and bad , and as always we do need honest opinions to keep us on our toes .
Thanks again for keeping us on on toes and I do hope if you return to PP , you will give us another chance .

“Odd little place, but very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

As previous reviewers have noted, this restaurant is tucked away behind a Pagoda off Sothearos Boulevard. Not obvious to find but the owners are very helpful in giving directions. We walked there and although it didn't seem possible it was where described, sure enough, there it was! It's not exactly confidence inspiring walking down a long dark lane and then another, but they're wide and unthreatening.
The restaurant has been created out of a converted 'long house' with lovely terrace at the front, and the airconditioned restaurant inside.
Good selection of drinks. The food selection is a bit more than tapas, a bit less than a main. Perfect for sharing. It's also possible to have a half order of most of the food so you have the chance to try quite a number of dishes without getting so full you feel like you'll burst.
We had three or four dishes (two of which were half portions) and it was perfect.
The food absolutely delicious, service quite good. The owners are a delightful couple from Australia who have lived here for a number of years and happy to chat if you wish and not if you don't.
The only reason I give this restaurant less than 5 stars is the location.

“awaken the sense of taste”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Not difficult to access, but surprising location.
The decoration is simple but few elements sophisticated make us think what the manager take care of this place.
Wink to talking to a stranger, the cocktails are delicious, but the price is a bit higher than expected.
And he food is delicious! An amazing creativity with spices and ingredients from here and elsewhere. Dishes with Asian notes, duck, pork belly... etc And refreshing starters. If you go there with a bunch of friends, it is interesting to order a bit of everything and therefore to taste everything! It was a great experience!

Kochy A,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and from your subtle comments I can see you may have frequented our last establishment TTAS .
We are pleased you found our creative menu and delicious cocktails to you liking . And as you said to really get a good cross section of the menu , it is often better to come with a few friends and share many dishes .
Once again thanks

Karoleanne,
Thanks for a great review and short but to the point . Our strong beliefs of hospitality is that the food should be the best you can do and to ensure that every client entering through our doors leaves with a feeling of 'warm and cuddly' ...
An odd location which is the part of the charm....you have to want to come here , not just passing by ....
Thanks and happy continued travels
