“Beautiful hotel, great staff...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2012

My partner and I loved this hotel. Great rooms, really lovely. Staff were also lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast was fantastic...so fresh and delicious. Swimming pool had a few pluming problems while there, so couldn't swim, but these things do happen. Quick walk to town but out of the main hustle and bustle which we liked. Highly recommend to all.

King Grand Boutique is located no more than a ten minute walk from the Royal Palaces and on the central boulevard, and you're no more than a short tuk-tuk ride away from most of the attractions of the city. The tuk-tuk drivers who assemble outside the hotel can be a pain in the backside with their constant hassling, but I doubt that's anything the hotel have any control over.

The staff provide a very polite and caring welcome, they really can't do enough. They served a wide ranged breakfast and the bar service was second to none on the ground floor and both pool areas.

Our room was situated in the apartment complex that is linked to the King Grand Boutique and were informed this was 'an upgrade', which was fair enough as the standard of the room was very good, but it did mean a little confusing trip from the lift, stairs and balcony to find our room. We ended up trying to get in someone else's room by mistake a couple of times!

The key system was very futuristic and a little daunting at first, but entirely safe.

The room was very clean and well appointed with a spacious bathroom and a refreshing shower. The bed was very comfortable with good views over the boulevard albeit from a small window. My only gripe with the room was that the air conditioning was quite noisy, plus the noise from outside was enough to keep me awake a while, particularly when the construction site opposite started up. A lot of this may have been due to jet-lag as my wife slept fine, but it wouldn't stop me booking again.

Much of the appeal of this hotel lies in it's rooftop pool and bar area, which is superb. Offering great views of the city and beyond, it's perfect for a few beers before going out of an evening or taking a cooling dip after a days sight seeing...

Room Tip: Try and get a room in the main hotel, otherwise it's a little awkward accessing the adjacent apa...

Stayed for 4 nights with my wife. I have booked this via hotels.com, choose the deluxe room. It is just amazing. Very big, extremely clean. Breakfast is good. I loved all the fruits. Freshly squeezed water melon juice, I have never had before. Tuk-tuk is always available by the hotel. Organize it for yourself, could be cheaper. We used tuk-tuk to the airport for 6USD. Not that bad. Roof top jacuzzi and the view is just amazing. The surrounding area and all Cambodia is very safe. We walked a lot by night, and never felt unsafe. Everything is within walking distance, but as I mansioned, tuk-tuk is so cheep. Get a nice diner on the riverside, a nice boat trip for 1 hour is just 12USD!!!! We had a big boat for just two of us. Unbelievable. I just want to thank all of you guys at King Grand. We will definitely stay there again in next January when we go back to Cambodia.

Room Tip: Take the deluxe, it is worth the price difference!

A very clean and modern hotel with a rooftop swimming pool. Easy to visit the main tourist area's and a short tuk tuk or taxi to s14 and a bit longer out to the killing fields.

The welcoming is really warm and inclusive a welcome drink. The staff is not just friendly....they are very, very friendly and not only for the mighty dollar. The rooms are comfortable with a quiet good functioning airco, a safedepostit box and a fridge. Of course there is TV and Video equipement.

The beds ar very OK and so is the bathroom.

Their are lots of restaurants in every price segment in the neighbourhood
The tuk-tuk in front of the hotel are reliable since they are more or less controlled bij hotel staff. A ride to the heart of PP is 1 US$ and about 10 minutes. If you like to walk the stunning busy streets it may cost you 15 minutes.

Summa summarum: if we ever come back to PP we shal use this hotel.

Room Tip: Have a look at their website www.kinggrandboutiquehotel.com the pictures here are reality.

I stayed at the King Grand Boutique Hotel in Phnom Penh for 3 nights in January 2012 during a month long tour of Vietnam & Cambodia.
This was my absolute favourite hotel.
I was given a free upgrade of room in the new extension of the hotel. Getting to my room was a little tricky as you go up the lift & then have to walk across a sort of walkway to get into the new part of the hotel. It wasn't a problem for me but could be an issue for some people. My room overlooked the park & so I enjoyed the music & light extravaganza which takes place in the evenings at the weekend.
My bed was extremely comfortable - the mattress felt very similar to a memory foam one. The bedding was luxury quality. Facilities for using my laptop were good (desk space, plug points nearby & good lighting).
The en-suite was very luxurious. There wasn't a bathtub & that is the only negative that I can mention.
There was a small swimming pool on the street level, next to the restaurant area. There was also a smaller one on the rooftop. This was very welcome after a hard day's sightseeing. I spent several hours lounging by the top pool & doing work on my laptop looking out at the superb view. There was a bar near the top pool.
Breakfast was a combination of buffet + extra items which were cooked to order. Everything was fresh & well prepared.
The staff were very polite & helpful.
Location was down a side street just off the main road. It was about a 10 minute (safe) walk to the Riverfront area (which is one of the best places for eating etc).
I didn't want to leave & would have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems then maybe ask for a room in the original part of the hotel

This place is really a gem. The staff could not be nicer, the rooms are sparkly clean and the roof, although small and with a very small pool, has a terrific view both of the riverfront on one side and the royal palace on the other. I'm sitting by the pool on the roof now enjoying watching the city turn from daytime into nighttime and feeling lucky to be here.

My room is a tad noisy, the shower door doesn't close well so if you're not careful you'll flood the bathroom when you shower, and there is a bizarre lack of outlets in the room. That said, I would 100% stay here again and recommend this place to friends as well. For the price, it's well, well worth it. Also, the breakfast is fantastic. You don't have to eat lunch there is so much to eat in the morning! Overall I think this is really an excellent hotel.
