“You could find better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013 via mobile

Had heard good things about this guesthouse but wasn't particularly impressed. Staff were not at all friendly. $16 for an air conditioned double room. The air con was good but the towels were filthy and the sheets were not clean. Good location but you can definitely find better places in Phnom Penh!

Stayed here for 2 nights and paid $16 per night for a double air con room. Although, the air con worked well an extra $6 per night for air con compared to a fanned room is a bit excessive I felt. The room was clean and bed comfy although the towels were dirty and didn't seem like they'd been washed for a while.

The receptionist wasn't too friendly especially compared to where we had stayed in Siem Reap.

Overall, a good location and decent enough hotel. Probably not worth the extra just for air con. Good enough if you're only staying for 1-2 nights, however anymore and I'd look elsewhere.

After reading all the good reviews on trip advisor and lonely planet we were looking forward to our stay here but were extremely let down. We are pretty tolerant when it comes to travelling but this was not a good place at all! The sheets and towels were disgusting and had stains on then, the bed had beg bugs. The toilet in the bathroom leaked, some of the staff were really rude and it seemed like anything you asked was a huge task for them. After travelling for a month in budget accom this is the worst place yet.

Pop in here for breakfast before exploring the city for the day. Beans on toast and ham and cheese toastie were great. Excellent wi-Fi and all round great feel to the place. We recommend popping in here for food. Didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms.

The rooms are satisfactory for the price range, but the one I had could really use a paint job, and the bathroom felt grimy. The linens smelled clean, but looked dirty. Decent value, but it felt cheap at the same time. Personally, I don't really care about daily cleaning or fresh towels, but they did offer. I found the staff to be friendly for the most part, and the food in the cafe downstairs was good. If you're looking to stay near the riverside, you could do worse. By the same token, you can probably do better.

Stayed for two days. The room was fine, bathroom a bit mouldy. No change of towels or cleaning.
The service was lousy, hardly ever anybody at the reception. One time we waited ten minutes to get our room key, nobody came - so we ended up grabbing our Own key. Not very reassuring that anybody Can take the key.
We ordered breakfast - took 45 min to arrive, so choose the cornflakes if you are in a hurry.
Would choose smth else on the same road.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location isn't great but isn't bad either. Having said that I'm not sure that staying down at the riverside is worth it. (We wandered over to the expat area, where top banana is and it was a much nicer vibe over there). Unfortunately the bathroom was very dirty. Honestly I wasn't sure if I was cleaner before or after taking a shower and I think all that it needed was a good wipe down and it would have felt better but there was years of scum in there. Also the walls and windows sills had a lot of dust and dirt on them and the curtain was broken. The fan also didn't rotate so would only get the middle of the bed. I understand paying under $20 for a room not to expect much but it seems more like they'd stopped trying.
