Owner description: The Flicks Community Movie Houses are the really unique locations in Phnom Penh where you can enjoy the blockbusters, documentaries and the classics on a big wide screen, in "uber-comfy" air conditioned movie rooms, from before there were big cineplexes. The Flicks are the ONLY legit movie houses in town also, fully approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Cambodian Department of Cinema. The Flicks 1 on Street 95 is the legendary movie house from the time there was no other big screen in town, located in an original wooden Cambodian house and features an all air conditioned bar and a leafy outside terrace. Its movie room seats 30 people. The Flicks 2 is its little brother in the city center and also screens the must-see movie for all visitors, The Killing Fields, daily in its 20 seats movie room. The Flicks 3 is the latest 30-seats venue on Street 258, which also features a restaurant and guesthouse. Enjoy your movies for only $3.50 Per day, with a drink, snacks and homemade fresh popcorn!

“Love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Great place to watch film, the schedule usually contains a good mix of blockbuster, classic, family and arthouse/foreign. The owners have great taste!

I have often spent an afternoon there, staying through for multiple sessions (entry is for unlimited sessions, all day).

I have also organised a group booking, we were able to select our own film, at a reasonable price.

“Very nice and relaxed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

This suited us very well, if you are a day off from tourist attractions while travelling. Watched three movies with all of them being enjoyable. Also was able to get food but not anything special. Sadly do not sell the nachos or hotdogs anymore that are mentioned in the reviews

“Wine, film and AC in good company”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

I new the Flicks was for me when I discovered i's website, shortly before leaving for 3 months in Phnom Penh. Now I've become a regular. You can count on a steady stream of current (US) and/or interesting international film fare, great prices, a genuine welcome by The Empire's staff (I've ony been to Flick's 2--host Niall) something to eat and plenty to drink. The viewing experience is a cross between classic art house and dorm-room with a choice of chairs or futon-like things on the ground. Both are fine. It's true, sometimes I just come for the killer AC. Save a little sober for descending the stairs after the film.

“Local arts film house”

Excellent choice of films. The front rows are mats for reclining on to view the screen. Friendly local people staff the place. They serve beer and wine.
