“Still doing a great job”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

I reviewed this hotel after a previous visit last year, but decided to write again after seeing one or two recent dismal reviews. I'm really not sure these people were staying at the same hotel or are on the same planet (and seem unaware that this is a modestly priced hotel in a Third World country which offers standards of cleanliness and service which would put many First World hotels to shame. My room this time was bigger and sunnier, with a view of rooftops (including the ugly rear of a couple of neighboring buildings and a parking lot). So what? One reviewer criticised this, but what did they expect? A view of the Eiffel Tower? And everywhere you turn in the Silver River, there are staff keeping it immaculate - no cigarette smoke evident anywhere (something that would bug me if it was there), though another reviewer managed to detect it. Did she complain to the management, I wonder? And run down? Far from it. So I will keep on recommending the Silver River. It's good value (around $30 a night), the service is thorough and comes with a smile, and it is in a good location handy to everything.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors and on the side will be quieter, and are nice and sunny (though the view is n...

Friendly staff with nothing being a problem.Breakfast was basic but plentiful. On 172 St so you are close to everything .Tuk Tuk drivers just outside your door / takeaway shops & Laundry just across the road...easy walk to River,Restaurants & shopping.
The National Museum & Palace within walking distance.
We paid $45 per night but there are much cheaper rooms available.

Room Tip: Front street rooms are actually smaller than other comparably priced rooms. We were on level four wit...

Unfortunately it was a last resort due to Chinese New Year and everything was booked in town

Location is walking distance to the river but that's about the only pro i have

My room smelt like someone spent 10 years smoking in it , the wall light wall mount blew and shot sparks out till i took out the electricity key , the water was brown from the Taps , breakfast buffet i walked straight past as wasn't worth looking at and unless you are desperate i would look at other places for sure

I stayed three nights in this hotel and everythingh was Ok!The rooms were comfortable ,quite large and clean .The air con worked well and silently and the bathroms were modern with plenty of hot water at every moment of day and night:Our room was particularly quiet as it wasn't on the road side,so we slept very well.
The staff of this hotel was particularly kind and professional.
Breakfast was good and very vell served by very attentive young waiters.
The location too of this hotel is quite good as it's in the town center very near to the river too.

Pros:
Reasonably priced, clean and decent hotel.
Room was ok. Nothing to complain for the price.
Places to eat just across the street (Blue Dolphin and a noodle shop; both serve nice meals)
Bars closed by, within metres of the hotel
Within walking distance to the riverfront action where the action is
Many tuk tuk drivers outside the hotel, making it easy to get a ride anywhere

Cons:
For the 3 days we were there, the shower seemed to consistently release warm water for only about 3 minutes. After that, it's cold water all the way.

All in all, an average hotel. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Well located and well-appointed hotel (by local standards) that is walking distance to everywhere you want to be. Quiet, surprisingly comfortable beds and very clean rooms, bathrooms are perfectly good, breakfast is decent. The staff are great and the front desk will arrange everything at good prices. Look Phmon Penh is not the design capital of....well...anywhere, but this place is a safe and awesome home base, and for the price, book without hesitation.

Is in the busy touristy neighborhood 2 blocks from palace and national museum. Very clean hotel and rooms, great breakfast buffet and staff is very helpful. Good wifi and air con. If you are not offended by the many older white gentlemen customers hanging out with young cambodian women, then this place is just perfect. Excellent value for the money
