“Below Expectations ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2015

Hello Everybody...
Just to share with all the recent holiday and visit to Phnom Penh and hope you readers have an insight view of certain hotels.
It was a holiday visit with group of 5 and each with a room.
As usual my rating would be in bullet point and rate 1 to 10. (Where 10 being excellent and 5 being fair but need to improve, 6-8 are just ok and good)
Anything below 5 need it's your your judgement.

1. Welcoming and check in = 6 (good nothing special just a norm routine and no welcome drinks yeah....)
2. I stayed in Level 4 and has lift. = 8
3. Air con was poor and I had to call the maintenance guy to mingle and turn on the air con.... I practically turn on the AC the whole day and yet it is not cool enough. One of my buddy had the same problem however the rest, their room AC are just ok. I rate mine as = 3.

4. The room size was adequate. 7 points for the size. For the price of it.
5. No wardrobe = I rate as very poor... where do one keep their dirty laundry ??
6. Safe box not available in the room but they have in over the receptionist counter.
I rate = 4 due to inconvenient.

7 . Another key area for any travellers are the bath room / toilet....overall = 4
8. No hot water.... I have to mingle with the pipe valve to balance the water output and yet the hot water pressure was very poor.
Rate this as = 2 ( was frustrated with the hot water issue)
9. The bath tub is wobbling and each time I shower, I can't really move much because the tub was wobbling.... 0 points for safety reasons ... my first of awarding such a low mark...!
10. The toilet however was quite clean and big. Hygiene wise is acceptable. Rate = 6.5 mark.
11. Bed was a queen size ad they obliged to my request of additional pillow.
12. Mattress wasn't the best and for me its hard. Rate = 5
13. TV channels for non Cambodian speaking is bad.
Sports and international news was poor. Rate = 4
(There's 2 or so movie channels available but don't expect those latest movie)

14. Location of hotel = 6 (not near the main river where all the nite life happening) hence you can get a decent sleep with min noise.
15. Surrounding area has few massage centre a restaurant available.
Taking a tuk tuk to key area is within 5 to 8 minutes and cost between 4 to 5 USD. This is a plus point of the hotel location. Rate 6.5.

16. The building maintenance, rooms and toilet are reasonably well kept for the cost of it.
Room rates between USD 35 to USD 40 a nite. This is the advantage factor these hotel has among the rest.

Overall, I found out the hotels are fully booked cause we can't change room but I wonder what usually travellers looking for..... convenient or cheap or proper utilities.
My set back was the hot shower availability....
wobbling tub... no safe box in the room....
No wardrobe and insufficient tv channels ....

However the price offered are quite competitive if one is looking for a budget hotel within the city.
Distance to Nagasari Complex is less than 5 min by local taxi (tuk tuk)
Those on budget or back packers may find the place is acceptable for that price...
If you share ... The cost is much cheaper.
Also the alertness of the reception I would say it's very good...any guess going to your room or from your room, they will call to verify...that's a plus point.

Viewers and readers, do appreciate if you think these info is useful or otherwise for my personal improvement.
Hopes these info helps.
Cambodia is a nice City to visit thought.
Have a great time.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is in a good location, not far from the palace and the staff were friendly. My husband and I were given a room that was in dire need of a lick of paint! While that wasn't so much of an issue, the army of ants marching along the wall was, as were the cockroaches in our bathroom!

We did inform reception who apologised and said they'd give the room a spray! Our friend's room however, seemed to be in better condition.

Wouldn't recommend this hotel until it updated its decor and sorted out the bug issues. We've travelled around Asia and live in Hong Kong and, while we appreciate bugs are a part of life here, we don't appreciate having them for company in our room!

Hotel was in desperate need of a makeover. Hallways and rooms were old and run down. Rooms were not terribly large and were somewhat clean. Wi-FI, TV, shower, and everything else worked very well.

Location is fair.....not much within three blocks of the place except a few Japanese and Korean restaurants (I ate at a Korean place that was four doors down from the Diamond Palace - it was quite good and cheap) and a LOT of the "non-therapeutic" type of massage parlors surrounding this property.

Dining room and bar area looked nice and clean and inviting, but I had matters to attend to, so not time to have a bite or a drink there! Staff really seemed friendly enough.....really had no issues there.

Again, landed at Phnom Penh International at 6:00PM, visa-on-arrival, Immigration, Customs, Baggage claim, - ended up leaving the airport at 7:15PM and I hot to The Diamond Palace around 8:00PM, so I just needed a place to crash out, and for twenty-four bucks, it worked well for what I needed!

Room Tip: I got a Superior room with a Queen Bed in the front of the hotel.....either I sleep like a rock, or...

We booked this hotel for a few nights whilst in Phnom Penh. The hotel is located about 5mins in a tuk tuk from the city centre and surrounded by local amenities. The staff are very friendly and extremely welcoming, they are also willing to go the extra mile to help.

The room we had was very basic, there was no window, no safe. The air on was extremely loud and the room smelt of old cigarettes. The hallways are very clammy and have a cigarette odour also which is off putting. However for the price you pay it does the job, we wanted somewhere to rest our head, and it ticked that box.

The staff for one are excellent, incredible friendly and will jump up to greet you every time you come in or go out. We got a $20 night deal online which included breakfast, breakfasts were simple and you select off a menu, eggs/toast/Asian etc.

Rooms were quite big, bathrooms too. Our room had a funny smell and no window but hey, you have to lose somewhere for $20 a night. Location is a good 20min walk to riverfront but if you stay out that way you'll pay for it! There a plenty of restaurants and cafés around the hotel too so you don't have to get to the riverfront. Or get a Tuk Tuk for $2 - bargain hard! My favourite was the Poptea shop acros the road for a smoothie every morning after breakfast.

Wifi is good, hot water, modern looking hotel.
Not bad :)

Well appointed with average room size. But there are plenty space in the bathroom , the bath tub and hot water is provided in every room. Spacious and clean with the wooden floor ,simple furniture. Digital safety box are available as well but seem like not provided in every room. Flat screen TV with variety choice of local and international channels provided. WiFi is great complimentary and working well.

Location: Events it is not located in the centre of the town but it is convenient to go around. Easy to find the restaurants, convenient stores, and there are many massages shop near by the hotel. It takes around 5-10 minutes walk to Independent Monument.

The room I stayed in was really nice, and for the price I paid, I'm.happy!.excellent value. The location may not be so ideal as, it's not so close to the riverside but its close to the monuments, and it's not that far away from the royal palace and silver pagoda. Be sure to slap on some sunscreen though if you're planning to walk around. There are a few restaurants around, some of the local food stalls, some Korean food, Japanese food as well as a burger place as well. Staff are friendly and helpful, and are fluent in English.
