“Try and book a different hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We got there and was taken to our room, all to find was a jackhammer hammering the wall we complained straight away but said they were fully booked. This I found out to be untrue as they were still accepting new guests after we arrived. This started at 8am to 6pm and made staying in the room unbearable to stay in during this time. Our door looked like it had been kicked in at some point, it was split in half and does not fit the frame any more. The air con was simply non existant. So they cut short to save money you would think that would be it but you would be wrong. We went down to expect a buffet breakfast but what we was offered was the choice of 1 of 5 things off a menu, a pancake, a smoothie, soup, and 1 egg the way you like and a single strip of bacon. Coffee tea and toast was a plenty

Enjoyed our stay here. White flooring has been used in the rooms which has become a little stained which makes the room floor look dirty, which it isn't. Building work going on next door when we arrived but we were moved to another room which was much quieter, Should only be for a few months i think. Beautiful bathroom and large airy room. Staff were helpful and spoke good English.
Central position was good and easy to walk to most places.

Stayed here for a night. Quite a distance from the palace and main eating area. However the cleanliness and minimalist effect of the hotel compensates for the distance. Love the bathroom. The funky and yet artistic atmosphere is very refreshing and welcoming.

Felt like a stylish Los Angeles hotel blended with Cambodian warmth and service - I say that as a complement. Our room was clean and comfortable, a nice respite from the bustle of Phnom Penh outside. Service was attentive and very nice. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.

I've read some reviews saying this hotel is not quite centrally located. Though a lot of things are near the river this does not mean the hotel wasn't centrally located; sites in Phnom Penh are spread throughout the city and we were glad to take a tuk tuk to see the city. Frankly we enjoyed staying in an area not thronged by westerners. Isn't that the point of traveling?

The only drawback is the hotel does not have a pool. That said, I'd happily stay here again.

I stayed here in late December, intially booked 2 nights but extended my stay for 2 more nights. It's the most trendy hotel i think in town, All Staff are really friendly, polite and helpful, The manager does his best to meet requests and replies very promptly to emails. A very professional but laidback vibe at the hotel and i look forward to going back there later this year.

We stayed here for just one night in December, before leaving for Siem Reap. Unfortunately, it was fully booked when we returned to Phnom Penh several days later and we had to stay in possibly the worst hotel of our travelling careers. But I digress. The Lebiz is new and fresh, with funky artwork and a calm and pleasant ambience.

Pros:

- the staff are friendly, competent and helpful, especially with organising taxis and tuktuks and giving advice on best routes to take.
- it's reasonably well-located and easy to find.
- the breakfast is delicious and filling.
- the decor and furniture are simple but functional and super cool.
- the room equipment (TV, iPod dock etc) is modern and unexpected in such a well-priced hotel.
- the lobby has a comfy space to relax and read the books in the "library", if you have time.

Cons:

- um, the lift was slow. Yup, that's about it.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights after my first choice hotels were booked out. I did not regret it. The hotel staff was absolutely top class and made my stay great. They were extremely helpful and took the initiative in making sure all my Phnom Penh travel needs were taken care of. They would hail the tuk tuks for me and negotiate the price with the drivers. The room was great too - very spacious, clean and urban. The breakfast was fantastic! Besides the buffet, they also served great coffee and smoothies. Lebiz is certainly a great hotel to stay!

I must add that this may not be the place for everyone though. The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool - which I missed after a long day in the Phnom Pehn heat. Also, the hotel is about 10 minutes away on tuk tuk from the Riverside and the Royal Palace area which is where all the tourist action is. It's only a $2 ride, but some travelers may prefer staying in the heart of the action.

I knew of these shortcomings when I booked it, so have no regrets. The hotel is still great and the staff is the nicest I came across in Cambodia.
